AC Milan are chasing Drogba AND Adebayor

Didier Drogba and Emmanuel Adebayor are targets for AC Milan as they step up their search for a big-name striker.

MirrorFootball revealed on Tuesday that Chelsea could be set to offer Drogba, 33, a new two-year deal.

But Serie A champions Milan could be ready to test Chelsea and Drogba with a £10million move and will go for Manchester City outcast Adebayor if that bid fails.

Drogba held off £50m signing Fernando Torres last season and it could be more likely that Nicolas Anelka is sold by the Blues this summer.

Chelsea have yet to appoint a successor to manager Carlo Ancelotti, who was sacked on the final day of the season last month.

Turkey boss Guus Hiddink has been strongly linked with the role but last night claimed there has been no contact from Stamford Bridge.

Hiddink, preparing his team for tomorrow night’s Euro qualifier visit to Belgium, said: “Nobody has knocked on my door yet, there is nothing concrete to discuss. My contract with the Turkish football federation is until 2012.

“It’s not that easy to just leave. Neither me, nor the federation, has received any official offers.”

Because he came out and said after we get champions league qualification I will reveal some mind blowing info. Never happened.
He then changed it and said 'no, after the cup final I will reveal it' Never happened, he then changed it and said 'After the season ends' and guess what...never happened.
Several people went back onto the thread which HE STARTED and called him out and he never came back.
He said catagorically that a) something mega was happening and b) he would reveal all...countless times.

I'd even prefer we stuck with Dzeko as well.

I see no outstanding reason why we would target Abramovic.

Not heard nothing on Ibra to be honest

Nobody really knows what's happening with Tevez as yet, so any talk of main strikers will only be feelers put out and not dead certs.

In my opinion we've got a future Ibra in the making with Džeko ;-)

Agreed re:comment about Dzeko, give him a pre-season and a run in the side and I can see him scoring 20 goals a season for us. Needs confidence that comes with selection and playing.

I wouldn’t write this one off. It’s been said since last year that Milan really can’t afford to buy Ibra from Barca and that they only was interested in having him on loan for a season so he could help Milan winning the league and Berlusconi winning the election.

He was close to sign for us last season but his sponsorship deals demands that he plays in CL, he’s been Nike’s poster boy for ages so he knows both Marwood and Cookie from their Nike days, he's also close to Balotelli, DeJong, Viera, Dzeko and all of the Italians in the coaching staff.

I would not be surprised if this actually happened.

Not particularly excited at this news. I had expected Mancini to make a move for him but he has shown no enthusiasm to come here.
I can understand why there might have been heated disagreements with management if this was discussed. If Mancini moves on we will be left with a very expensive player that none of other top CL clubs are prepared to buy.
