Ibrahimovic

Of course, people have the right to their opinion, yet I thought I would post this thread that includes an explanation from Bombo relating to the 'major development' thread!

<a class="postlink-local" href="http://forums.bluemoon-mcfc.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=222601" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">viewtopic.php?f=1&t=222601</a>

There are several questions that could usefully be separated:

1. Does Bombo have genuine inside information?
2. Would Roberto like to sign Ibra?
3. Would Ibra prefer to sign for us rather than stay at Milan?
4. Would Ibra want to sign for us if Milan do not want / cannot afford to take up the option with Barca?
5. Do you think that it would be a good idea for us to sign him?

My answers are:

1. I really have no idea whatsoever. In any event, I don't think that this should get in the way of a good discussion!
2. Emphatically, yes!
3. Very hard to say but it is certainly possible (because of his links with Roberto, Mario, Patrick and Yaya; because he knows City are going places; because he has said before that eventually he would like the challenge of playing in the Premier League; and because we would pay him well).
4. Very likely.
5. As I have said before, I think that Ibra would work well with Mario and Edin. Mario and he have worked well together at Inter. And Edin has often said that he prefers to play with another strike partner. Next year, we will need 3 main strikers + a young up-and-coming striker. I can understand why some are undecided about Q5. Perhaps this is the most extreme case hitherto of "Do you as fans trust Roberto?"

There is also the issue of the trust placed in him by the powers-that-be. My own suspicion is that had we scraped into CL qualification but with no FA Cup win, Roberto would not have got the go-ahead to try to sign Ibra. However, finishing 3rd and winning the FA Cup may well have changed all that.

Bombo said Mancini was on his way so any other info he gives is slightly dubious imho

I'd say cut him some slack. He has the courage of his convictions and from my own perspective of Bombo, has a relationship of some sorts.

As for Mancini, he was indeed on his way, but Jose was never in the equation. The recent events in Abu Dhabi are a hangover from all the uncertainty up to the end of the season and personality clashes.

Bombo simply jumped the gun, and it was not in the best interests of this board or the team, prior to an FA Cup final, to post it.

I wish I could be so forthcoming at times.

I am criticised and questioned, despite what others might suggest, but someone posting info in such a candid manner, deserves civility, regardless of 100 per cent conviction.

I thought Ibrahimovic , just yesterday said he was staying at Milan ?

He's made it clear that's where he would like to stay. TBH not sure how he would fit into our squad and I feel we need to persevere with Dzeko who I'm sure will come good. He has similar attributes as Ibra but not the skill but if we get others to do that side he'll score goals for us. No need to waste millions when the solution may already be here.

Fair enough but still there were two possible outcomes and the info was ultimately incorrect. He also said something about the greatest tactician around coming in which I guess was supposed to be Jose. Jumping the gun by about two years!

That is a flat out lie. He came clean and explicitly said he was suggesting Bobby would go and Jose would come in. Now who should be banned for life?

He also said that his original post was nothin to do with the management situation. Then changed his mind later.

Another flat out lie. He never said that.
Bluejill are you sure you're not just Bombo using a different user name?
I have thought this many times. You're very first postings which have now been deleted from the "1936" thread which interpeted the "1936 clue" and correctly suggested the Bombo "Mourinho link" well before the FA cup final. Many other postings have just been to defend Bombo. It seems a remarkable co-incidence! (I'm not having a go :-)))

Bombo made some statements. They turned out not to materialize. He was man enough to come back afterwards and say exactly in no uncertain terms what he meant. People continue to pretend that he said things he didn't say. I just want the record set right.

As for predicting the Jose link...I thought it was pretty obvious.

As for me being Bombo...you decide for yourself :-)))
Boateng to bayern Munich looks very likely now they have cleared the decks for him and expect him to sign shame really
Please don't happen.

LOL. I have also wondered about this! BlueJill first registered on the day that Bombo posted the original "Major Development" thread! I have assumed that this is the sort of thing that Moderators keep an eye out for.

In any event, as I have said before, questions of whether Bombo is genuinely ITK should not necessarily interfere with a good discussion about Ibra to City.

Fair enough. I appreciate you coming clean ;-).
I suppose it can be handy having two user names I might start a second for myself....err sorry, a friend?
Your (BlueJill's) explanation about the 1936 Spanish civil war leading to Mourinho link seemed more plausible than the "Bombo"s later explanation :-))

I should also note, I have not really defended Bombo--just the truth. Also, not that it matters, I bumped the 1936 thread back up after we locked in third asking Bombo to come clean on the holes in his original explanation (After the FA Cup he explained the Mancini leaving clues but it wasn't until after the season that he came clean on Jose).<br /><br />-- Thu Jun 02, 2011 12:26 pm --<br /><br />

Thats the one thing I still don't know for sure. Whether I was right about the Civil War explanation. Bombo's explanation about abdicating the throne was pretty solid I thought. What I really want to know is whether the clue had a double meaning (Abdicating the throne AND the Civil War). If it did, that is one damn fine clue. Bombo, care to weigh in on this point?

So he put his neck on the line and came back and explained. That's all great...does it matter that both pieces of info were wrong or not? For me yes though I appreciate for others that the forum is for rumours too and it would be a rubbish place to be without them. Entertaining yes. ITK no.

As many ITK's have stated, he was in fact right about the first part (Bobby leaving). But things changed.

Yes he did. But magically the thread has dissapeared along with the evidence.
Are you Bombo in disguise?
