'If It's Not Broke, Don't Fix It'

Mourinho was sacked because Roman was an idiot, and Abramovich paid and continues to pay the price for it.

I disagree, Chelsea have won 6 trophies including a league title and a European Cup since Mourinho left. Not the greatest return and no doubt Mourinho would've improved on that tally, but is still nothing to be sniffed at when you consider it's been 5 years since his departure.

More importantly, that team that Mourinho and Abarmovich built, was the core of all their success in the last decade. It's important for us to have some perspective on winning/ownership. I realise that there will always be better players out there, and there will always by that pressure for us to buy the next big star, but we should also respect our owners in moments where they tighten the purse strings. If you look throughout the squad, we may not have 22 world class players, but we have enough excellent players to be able to compete at the highest level.

Plus it's well worth repeating again, that truly great managers make their teams greater than the sum of their parts. That's what Mancini should be aiming for, rather than just looking for the expensive fix in the transfer market every time he feels a player isn't up to his standards.

maybe mancini wont had changed IF was given a ready world class center back during summer

Change the record - Mancini got what he was given and now he must deliver with the resources he has just as he did last season. A world class manager would go out and win the league again this season with the squad Mancini has got and progress through our group in the CL.

And more importantly we won the league last season with the best defensive record in the league. Makes your argument almost totally invalid.

i'll let a famous world class manager's answer to you

"It's all about omelettes and eggs,"
"No eggs, no omelette. And it depends on the quality of the eggs.
"In the supermarket, you have eggs class one, class two, class three. Some are more expensive than others and some give you better omelettes. So when the class one eggs are in Waitrose and you cannot go there you have a problem."

Even with class one eggs from Waitrose you still need a good chef to cook the perfect omelette, if the chef doesn't know what he's doing and fucks about with the eggs they eventually become scrambled.

Haha. Another classic Mancio'ism. If you do ever leave this forum I'll make sure we have a thread in Classics with some of your finer moments.
