'If It's Not Broke, Don't Fix It'

I made this point after the Arsenal game, also the fact he took off Dzeko and it brought Arsenal back into the game as everyone said.

I'm sorry but I'm asking questions of Mancini once again. This 3-5-2 formation he has a massive obsession with. IT IS NOT WORKING. We haven't played well at all this season. Tonight has been on the cards, it's been coming. Hopefully this is a kick up the arse. Tonight is what Sunday could and probably should have been, he's tinkering with the squad and once again making bizarre substitutions and tactical errors.

If it's not broke, don't fix it. Were going backwards as we play each game, tonight was dreadful and probably the worse game under Mancini.

i posted the same thing. why change a title winning formula.

maybe mancini wont had changed IF was given a ready world class center back during summer

nothing to do with personel, we swap garcia for dejong and leave it at that.

he's fucked up, simple as.

It's a fair point.

With Mancini trying to play 3 at the back, it means that the whole backline has to re-adjust to their new roles.

The problem comes when you don't have 3 out and out CB's who've had a good pre-season to suss it out.

Thus Vinnie and JoLe didn't play together much at all in pre-season, we then swap formations around and after a summer break you need to get into the groove of playing one set way and re-familiarising yourself with it. When we switch back to 4, it's clear we don't have the same confidence in it because we don't play it all the time anymore, so it becomes more and more unfamiliar, and then we switch to 3 but it's never JoLe, Vinnie and Nastasic which you'd say is first choice until Micah comes back.

It becomes just an everchanging mix of personal with different formations and without a solid backline the midfield can't begin to be sorted and with new faces in there and our creative players off colour, or should I say also not protected, as we need a way of getting Spanish Dave and Nasri on the ball in space, at the moment good teams can stick 2 or 3 on Silva and he's stuck. I think we need to work out a formation that provides him space, but at the moment I think a wasted summer has not given us the personnel and the beginning of the season is not the time to be gelling people together.

I think we'll struggle compared to last season till December time, and then hopefully it'll click.

352 will not work with the players we have.

We need a quality playmaker to keep possession, faster strikers than Dzeko and Balotelli and actual wingers who have pace and can whip in a cross.

If we had Bale and someone to work with those crosses e.g. Falcao, I'd understand the change.

Get the Premiership, buy the necessary players and then give it a try.

7 goals conceded in 5 games equates to around 53 by the end of the season. That's just under twice what it was last season. Sort it out Bobby.

Our defending has been inept this season, not just the defenders but the whole team from front to back, no closing down, powder puff tackles. They need to wake up and that includes the manager and coaching staff, last year is history.

This is now Mancini's all time low as City boss. On a positive note, surely it can now only get better. If it continues, every man and his dog will be stirring shit.

Lets all hope so but my crystal ball has no soothsaying prowess.

Change the record - Mancini got what he was given and now he must deliver with the resources he has just as he did last season. A world class manager would go out and win the league again this season with the squad Mancini has got and progress through our group in the CL.

And more importantly we won the league last season with the best defensive record in the league. Makes your argument almost totally invalid.

i'll let a famous world class manager's answer to you

"It's all about omelettes and eggs,"
"No eggs, no omelette. And it depends on the quality of the eggs.
"In the supermarket, you have eggs class one, class two, class three. Some are more expensive than others and some give you better omelettes. So when the class one eggs are in Waitrose and you cannot go there you have a problem."

Boateng is doing well at Bayern M but was replaced with Savic.
