If we had safe standing would you relocate

Definitely. I'd hope that prices would go down in those areas though. Not because I think standing would be an inferior experience to sitting down, just that it would probably increase capacity and lower costs for the club.

Nope. Past all that shit. We stand at corners and goalmouth incidents and that'll do me.
Don't blame the younger fans wanting it though.

What age are you Bob?

58.

People where I am don't even stand for corners/incidents, boring sods.

It would be great to stand, if only so that I could get away from the twat behind me who blames Kolarov for everything from the Libyan Civil War to the fall of the Greek economy.

Unfortunately they're everywhere. You're never more than 10 feet away from one at city.

Absolutely! Would love safe standing to get implemented over here - need to model Germany's policies!

I would imagine safe standing could double the capacity of that section? If so prices could be halved and apart from the initial outlay the club would make the same money. In fact they could make more if you factor in the increased catering profits etc

Not quite double. The Football Licensing Authority (FLA) state that the space for 10 seats is taken up by 9 standers (which is why when fans like the rags get a reduced capacity due to standing, they take the end seats out). That number of 9 doubles as a seat covers two steps, standing only one.

So you can have 18 people for every 10 seats =
1000 seats 1800 standing
3000 seats 5400 standing
5000 seats 9000 standing
etc
Clubs would face the initial one off cost of installing the seats / barriers etc but after that, profit all the way for clubs increasing their attendance figures.

Cheers matey, interesting stuff that.

I experienced safe standing at football matches for years.

On the Kippax, the North stand, the Kop, the home end at Elland Rd, every side and end at the Stretford stadium etc etc.

It was all perfectly safe. I never suffered so much as a bruise.

Banning standing after Hillsborough was a total overreaction.

And now it has been proved fans were not even responisible for that.

Bring back standing at football matches.

Statistically it is far safer than flying or travelling in a car, both of which we are still allowed to do.

Definitely. Used to stand before all seater stadiums and only sit now because we have to. Love standing at aways and glad they seem to have eased off trying to make you sit everywhere. In fact I can't remember the last away where they tried to force it.
