If we win FA cup would you keep Mancini?

If we lost to Barnsley and came 3rd i would keep him. We need stability at the club and 1 FA cup, 1 PL Title in 3 years isnt bad is it. The only way i can see his job being under pressure is if we collapse and dont qualify for the CL.
Anything other than that, he deserves to be here next year, get a better summer transfer marker dealing behind him and crack on for next season

It shouldn't make a difference if we win the cup if better alternatives are available we should go after them.
There aren't any better alternatives, and once you have a coach you should back him and give him every opportunity to succeed.

I like how you put it. Doing things properly and building a dynasty istead of shorterm gratification.
If Mancini is sacked, you can rest assured that it won't be a 'short termist' decision. It will be a strategic decision based on the clubs confidence in him to take the club to the next level. All factors will be taken into consideration.

You can't guarantee how long a guy like mourninho would want to stick around, especially if the wheels started coming off.
You can't guarantee how long any manager, including Mancini, will stick around. He has kept his options open since day one. That's exactly why we have put a director of football in place: to provide continuity should we change managers.

Even wenger is getting a new deal and they are alot worse off than us and have been for years

Mourinho and possibly Klopp. I want whats best for City and if I feel the coach is holding the club back then will obviously will want a change. I don't see the problem with expressing this on a forum, matches is a different story though.

We are second in the league, we may not win a thing this year but we have to realise that throwing our toys out of the pram when we don't get our own way isn't the answer. I want Mancini to be here for a long time

And when slurgie goes...IMO we will have the best manager in the prem .
Wenger is better, can't see how you'd say otherwise. Mancini has never done well in Europe let alone got to the final.

So many harp on about yesterday like Mancini proved something, no, our team beat a poor championship team that lost their best player in Bechio.

Southampton was must win and we lost. Yesterday was great don't get me wrong but its to be expected.

To say Mancini should keep his job on the back of a win against Leeds is nothing short of stupidity and naivety. Our board will be looking a few seasons down the line and base judgement on that, if they were swayed by yesterday then they'd be clueless.

Fact is we were poor in Europe, poor in CC and conceded league in mid Feb, winning this cup merely offers a ray of light during a bleak season where we have underperformed.

Not trying to be a twat but I really do despair when people hound doubters yet only see as far as their nose when looking to plan for the future. Leeds let us play well because they didn't press, they are no fucking Dortmund. Yet all is well because we beat them. That great if we want to win the championship rather than the Champions league.

Anyway, glass half full, Fa Cup is a great way to redeem ourselves for our poor campaign and means we can finish on a high. Mancinis future will 100% be decided before that game Taos place so the win will be irrelevant in regards to his tenure.
Brilliant post

A lot of the arguments for Mancini I understand. The one about him building a dynasty at City I don't. He has barely learned the language, and hasn't once looked settled or happy in England. If anything, I think managing over here is sucking the joy and life out of him. It's hard to imagine where he finds satisfaction when he's in an environment where there's a significant language barrier on top of his already aloof persona amongst his players. He spends a lot of time back in Italy which obviously is understandable and isn't a criticism, but it does lend itself to the idea that he has never settled in England the way say someone like Ancelotti did.

I don't know whether Wenger is getting a new deal or not. Plenty believe he will be sacked in the summer. But city and arsenal are polar opposites: we are an ambitious club who splash the cash around on the world's best players , they are a club with a history of success who have had to sell all their best players to please the bank.

In both his and mancini's cases, these are the things that provide context to their results. It doesn't matter if you choose to ignore this, I can promise you that their respective chairmen won't.
