If you thought you had read poor journalism before

Dear Sir/Madam

I wish to make a complaint about an online article written by one of your correspondents,Mr Alan Green. about Manchester City FC.
This man has a history of making derogatory comments about us,often baseless, and based on nothing more than his own personal agenda.

quote

"You see, I’ve always really liked City as a club but, and this isn’t down to jealousy, they’re rapidly transforming from being one of the country’s best loved clubs into the one that’s most hated: worse than Chelsea under Abramovich and that’s saying something.

Open your paper, listen to the radio or, if you can stand the constant gossiping, switch on to Sky Sports News: City are ‘linked’ with every player under the sun. ‘X’ is your best player, bet City are prepared to pay him oodles more than he’s worth: not necessarily to enhance their team, as much to weaken yours. It borders on the immoral."

This is only one part of this ludicrous piece of non-factual,self opiniated rubbish typical of Mr Green.
Firstly,he refers to "liking" City in the past, but now in his opinion they are rapidly becoming "hated."
He has no facts to back this,he has canvassed no-one.
One notable point is that he makes a special point of telling the reader he's certainly not "jealous."
Especially not as he's a self-confessed Liverpool fan.

Not at all jealous,Mr.Green.

Then he goes on to berate the club for being constantly linked with "x player" on Sky sports-as if it's something they have ultimate control over!
One would suggest prior to the influx of money at Eastlands, Manchester United and Liverpool were linked with "x player"on a far more regular basis.....weren't they,Mr Green?

So far as City looking to sign players soley to "weaken" other teams-again,Mr Green predicatbly gives no example of which specific player he means.

Gareth Barry perhaps,Mr.Green?Again, taken from under the nose of his beloved Liverpool?Notice the pattern forming here?

This piece of non-journalism continues, and of course it couldn't end any other way could it-the old "no history" barb.
This is laughably ignorant from a man who allegedly makes his money as a "sports journalist."
This is a club that holds the record attendance at an English league ground, has won every domestic honour in British football, has won a European trophy,is the fifth best supported club in England.....yet apparently, amazingly, still have "no history."

Ridiculous. The sort of 6th form garbage you would hear from a teenage "top four fan" who thinks football was invented in 1992.

Mr Green is past his sell by date.
His condescending, arrogant manner is boring, predictable and quite frankly, tiresome now.
Surely there's someone else at the BBC with new ideas and less of a personal agenda?

Regards,

RBmk2.

Ave that ,Green.

Dear All

We were well aware when we were bought by ADUG that the press and every other football fan would eventually hate us - obviously before they liked us because we were liddle old Citeh and of no danger to anyone football-wise - how times have changed.

Sod them all - they are all envious because they wish it was them who had been bought.

Learn to live with it and when the time comes for glory rub their noses in it like your life depended on it.

Personally (and rather topically) I am like a volcano bubbling away for years and years, inactive on the surface. All the piss-taking, even bullying, pain and heartache has had to be endured for a good reason as we are about to take on the football world.

ADUG want the best and they shall have it - how anyone can slag us off when even we, the fans, dont know what ADUG have in store is beyond me.

We have to be thick-skinned and the rewards will be glorious!!

Blue until I die!

As Oscar Wilde was once moved to say: “The only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about.”

Why worry about the intellectual pygmy that is Alan Green?

Allowing the pygmy air time will inform the opinions and viewpoints of many others.

I am a big Oscar Wilde fan and that is very true.

In fact, there are some posters on here like that.

i can't start a new thread myself (probably a bit too new), but if anyone can for me i think the forum would like to see this absolutely disgraceful piece of journalism from Patrick Barclay, the "Chief Football Correspondent" of The Times

glad it was picked up, that toss shouldn't be allowed to fly under the radar..

He says:- And then ask yourself this question: if the top of the Premier League is self- perpetuating, wouldn't you rather the monopoly was challenged by a club that had history and sound management, rather than one built solely on money?

So this arse hole thinks that City have no history I hate this excuse for a human being, a self opinionated sad barsterd.
