I totally disagree with that mate.It might be to the suits in boadrooms but it should never be to us fans,we need to win something first and the rest will follow.
That's why i said "For us fans, sure, starved of silverware for so long it would mean a great deal".

To the football club, though, Champions League qualification would be more important. I'd take the FA Cup over us finishing 2nd, 3rd or 4th, course i would, we all would.

Oh right sorry I agree with what you are saying then.I was just trying to say that I think it's quite sad that a club like Arsenal don't seem to give a shit about winning anything aslong as they make the Champs League every year.Don't get me wrong if we make the top four I'd be over the moon and it would put us in a posistion to really kick on.I think though(and yes I know we need to get in it first)that if your in it every year and not really looking like you can win the league or trying to win other cups the buzz of Champs league would start to wane a bit,as you play two shite teams at home in the group stages most years.

I make you right on that, pardoe.

Champions League Qualification, and the money and prestige generated, is more important to the club than a trophy. It will attract the top players for a start.

But the answers here show that for us fans we want the silerware drought to end.

If the choice was to win the FA Cup or finish 4th, that would be a tough one. It would be the FA Cup for me but I'm not sure Garry Cook would say the same thing. Or The Sheikh.

The threads rubbish now you've both made up.

Get angry again and have at it.

Much more entertaining.

Oh, by the way it's fucking A unless you're a witless dullard.

A) We win the Carling Cup
B) We have a good FA Cup run but don't win it, say beaten finalists or in the semis
C) We finish 5th in the league, but within single points of whoever finishes 4th
D) We dick United 5-1 in the home derby
E) Messi signs in January

All would be nice, sure, or even better in some cases, but for me, it'd be E. A would be the end to our trophy drough, C would be a sign of real progress, D would be brilliant, but still, i think seeing Messi in a City shirt would beat all those. Not that it's likely to happen, of course!

I honestly believe A - C are achieveable, in fact would b would slightly disappointed if we didn`t A and still finish in top 4.

And don`t forget boro did the domestic cup double a few years ago, with a worst team than ours.

Although 5-1 would b very nice , I think we will still beat them anyway. Probably a few years in champs league, and a few

cup wins b4 E.

HAPPY DAYS are on the way.....................................

I don't think the Smoggies won both cups in the same season. They got to both finals in 96/97, but lost them both. They also got relegated. Shame!!
