You've just said he had a poor game yet are insinuating that others are making him a "scapegoat".

But folk are just saying he was poor, like you just did.

It's called calling a spade a spade and there shouldn't be anything wrong with that.
Looked more like rust than a shit player. Only three performances that impressed me were laporte stones and walker.

Well said.

Honestly I only skimmed. Maybe scapegoat was wrong word. Imo he is definitely of the required quality. Am surprised he has yet to go on a killer run of form but I've been a big fan since his Dortmund days. Discuss all you want.

I was a fan & really wanted to sign him from Dortmund. Imo I have not seen that player at City. I hoped to see him more like that player today, especially after the way Pep was talking the other day as if he had a plan for him.

Imo currently comparing City's Gundogan to the Dortmund player is like comparing City's Steve Macmahon to the Liverpool player: occasional glimpses of what you remember, then the reality a minute later

Scapegoat for what ?

We won.

It's people discussing football & whether a particular player is the right one and a whole bunch of people trying to prevent the discussion from happening

Yea, I agree to an extent. Still holding hope this is the season he puts the pieces together for us. If not by midseason, I might begin to question.

Think he's been decent for us though. Just tough luck and nothing incredible yet. Right now rhough, for me, there's no doubt he's still worthy of a place.

He's been inconsistent here, so far. I really want him to do well, but i think this could be a crunch season for him. Probably of all the first team squad, he's the one that needs to step it up a notch.

Though the fact he's been talked of as being our weakest link, shows just how strong we are.

I noticed him get a foot in a few times including winning a ball in their half.

Fern however was getting goal side of fast attackers when holes appeared & making them pass it, stopping Arsenal from skinning us whilst Gundogan was drifting back too slow to affect the play.

Fern is faster than Gundogan and playing a deeper role.

That's true enough but with us trying to sign midfield players plus Fern & DS getting older, his position is likely to come further under threat.

Yep, he doesn't seem to quite fit in either our 6 or 8 position.

I won't write him off yet though, he's got so much ability and seems like an intelligent guy, but just beginning to wonder if he's one of those players who you don't see the best of unless he's the central, key player (at a slightly lesser team).
