If we sign a DM in the next window or two that person can cover the number 8 in the event of injuries as well; Fernandinho is still going to play a decent amount of games next year.

He has had a couple of decent games during this recent spell, but his average level during the period, is very average indeed & struggling to be worthy of even that description.

That's not up to scratch for a club/team of City's stature & I'm wondering at what point he will stand up, if he can't raise it v Palace & Leicester. This surely has to be his time to prove himself.

KDB is obviously off the pace, but would still have been a better bet as 6, both on & off the ball, with half fit D Silva & knackered Bernardo a better option playing further forward.

We really should have someone to come in who makes us all go "ooh" rather than "meh" even if it's still only a squad player or a 20 year old.

He has played in every game we've lost in the last 18 months, with the exception of the 2nd leg of the Champions League QF last year (where the damage was already done).

I wouldn't necessarily hold him personally responsible, but perhaps his presence has a wider effect on the balance of the team. Given he has generally replaced either Fernandinho/D.Silva/KDB may also not be a great surprise.
