If we do sell him I doubt we would buy a replacement. Buy a quality left back and fernandinho successor and we will have foden and Zinchenko for Gundo's squad place

Don't understand why Zinchenko is never tried, at the end of games, in that position.

I'd prefer Gundogan to stay as I see him as a useful squad member who is not so good that Fodem can't get past him in a year or 2.

It's an unnecessary cost and any new big money signing would be a major road block to foden.

From Ilkay's point of view though he probably is too good to just be happy sitting on a bench through his prime years. When Pep made him his first signing he probably didn't imagine hed end up with this role after 2 horrendous injuries. I couldn't blame him for wanting to go somewhere like Spurs or even Chelsea where hed start every week and be a star.

I can agree with the sentiment but that only works if you replace Gundogan with another CAM and the reality is we do not need to , we have 2 strikers playing for 1 position 3 wingers playing for 2 positions 5 central attacking midfielders playing for 2 positions 1 player playing for 1 defensive midfield position and no box to box
We simply have priorities in other positions for his place in the squad

but we can't force him to sign a contract with another club, no matter how much we might want him to. Moot point anyway, as I'm sure he'll re-sign

The other thing we learnt from Milner is you do not give them game time as they have already made their choice, Milner was City`s most used player the season he left

Improved recently but on a couple of occasions today his lack of pace was very noticeable. I think the ref overtook him today at one point. Against better teams perhaps consider someone else in the Fernandinho position
