I'd prefer Gundogan to stay as I see him as a useful squad member who is not so good that Fodem can't get past him in a year or 2.
It's an unnecessary cost and any new big money signing would be a major road block to foden.
From Ilkay's point of view though he probably is too good to just be happy sitting on a bench through his prime years. When Pep made him his first signing he probably didn't imagine hed end up with this role after 2 horrendous injuries. I couldn't blame him for wanting to go somewhere like Spurs or even Chelsea where hed start every week and be a star.
