I'm thinking it is corrupt

And in that time, what were other club's figures like?

I can see your point, but as the most successful club of that period, you'd expect them to concede less, surely?

I don't have the figures for every club, United's figures were readily available under the heading "Least penalties given during the 1992 - 2007 Premiership Years". It was indicating that Unite dhad the least cumulative penalties, home and away, over that period. It was then split down further into 12 at home and, I believe, 53 away. So, although I don't know the exact figures for Liverpool, Chelsea etc I do know they conceded more than United.

Anyway, for me it isn't so much the fact that it's less than everyone else (although that's bad enough) it's just how low the figure is. It indicates that, at some point, as a minimum, United went 3 whole seasons without committing even 1 foul in their own area. That just beggars belief.

Twenty years of ref-aid obviously leads to a natural assumption that that is the way it is. It is as plain as the nose on their face but the level of expectation and normalising of the fact leads rags to the inevitable decision that it's normal and therefore that nothing untoward is actually occurring.

In fact they would see honest refereeing as truly bent against them, because they have had it easy for so long.

Tick tock, tick tock............. It's in the post and they know it !

I actually thought I could debate a contentious subject with some other adults.

Youve pointed out your maturity, and other peoples lack of it in pretty much every post so far.

And you think that constitutes adult conversation? Let me give you a hint. Belittling, and insulting the person you aim to have a conversation with is not the best way to have such a conversation.

Thanks matty, but as I said - you'd expect that wouldn't you?

I saw some stats about penalties since 99/00, and Chelsea, Liverpool etc had conceded about six or seven more than United I think... hardly conclusive proof of bias.

Last season City were the runaway leaders in the prem for penalties awarded... doesn't mean it had anything to do with bias, does it? Just that your team was very good, your attacking play was excellent and you spent a lot of time in the oppositions box.

moomba - I'm going to try and stick to the topic where I can, hopefully you will do the same.

-- Tue Mar 27, 2012 11:05 am --

de niro

Where have I pretended to be a blue?

A video ref would have cleared that one up within seconds.
Yeah and given them an excuse for 20 mins injury time.
Independent time keeping will see the end of injury and stoppage time.
