Independent Article - City's Identity - Feels spot on :(

I don't; he was a constant source of embarrassment and utterly clueless at times
He certainly seemed to live with his foot permanently wedged in his mouth, but then he wasn't employed as a spokesman or mascot; he was a Chief Exec, and a damn good one, at that. The fact that he was invited back for the QPR game to celebrate with us only months after being 'sacked' showed just how highly regarded he was at the club - not just for how he engaged with staff, players and fans, but also for how he oversaw our biggest leaps forward (compare the players signed under his tenure compared to those under the current Barca duo!).

There's something about this Indie article that seems to ring true. There does seem to be an apathy around the club, a lack of enthusiasm and passion. Things seem almost superficial at times, particularly the fan engagement stuff (Inside City episodes dedicated to the misogynistic man-child KSI, or the painfully unfunny Kevin Hart). And I believe it's down to the shift from Cook/Mancini to Pellegrini/Soriano/Begiristain - the former were passionate, outspoken and seemed to 'get it', so it was easy to get behind them and the team; the latter are dour, distant and absent, and just don't seem as able to fire up the fans, players and staff in the same way.

Cool, we haven't had a thread for a few weeks where we get to call Ogden a ****.
Mark Ogden is a ****.

Once Pep gets the players onside it will have a very different feel to it. I believe he will be the great transformer, bringing in more great players and no more Bony, Delph, or Navas types. Then he will introduce youngsters more than Pellegrini ever did, and the club will begin to feel more like we hoped it would. It is a rocky road, but weave come a long way. I am sure the owners are aware of the slightly awkward response to Sunday, but if the Manure results had been the other way round, would more have stayed? I think so. Fickle we are, and to be honest the fans deserve as much criticism as the players and the management for this season's disappointments. Whatever we may think of Liverpool, Stoke, Man U even, their supporters get behind the team a lot more than ours do, the UCL pre-match atmosphere needs to be the model for the future. Or are we a mixture of doom laden Kippax diehards who secretly wish we were fighting relegation from the Championship or hoping to get into League 1 playoffs for a day out at Wembley? Is Dickoff ready for another lap of honour? Personally Aguero and de Bruyne alone are worth supporting City for, Sterling will either flop or thrive under Pep, we still have Hart and other great players, just beat Swansea or at least a draw and the traumas will be forgotten.

No. There is too much criticism of supporters nowadays. We have kept this club alive through the bad times and don't deserve the slagging we routinely get in the good times.

City's current identity reminds me of Arsenal. A squad that tries to aim high every season, but contend with floating around the 4th spot at the end of each.
We have won the league twice in the last 4 years and finished 2nd twice, how the fuck is that floating around 4th every season?

Hows the weather in Singapore today?

Cool story apart from the bit where we won the league twice in the last 4 seasons.
