Individual Match Tickets

If Pep moans about the atmosphere being flat next year then it's because the place is full of tourists with tickets being £67 +. He can direct his frustration at the ticket office and not the fans.

It is really shit on existing members who will now be in a mad rush on Thursday to book tickets. Why could they not have at least given us an extra day ahead of the tourists to buy tickets by implementing a criteria which involves points or members joined before 22 etc?

Why can't they also provide a guide on pricing allowing us to plan and budget for what we can/ can't afford? Instead, it's a mad panic to choose seats etc.

Attending games is a frequent social event in the calendar. The club are now turning it in to a luxury as if its an NFL game or gig.

I’m happy this year (I wasn’t last year). The 5 home games over TWO years is reasonable to minimize away fans getting in to home sections for big games. I normally do 4+ a year, at home, so should be OK.

I think I have resigned myself to not being able to do away games, as sourcing an away ticket is more difficult than a 4some with Brittany Spears, Kim Kardashian & Helen Mirren [emoji16]

If we’re away to a ‘lesser’ team, I can justify(just) £200 for a half decent hospitality ticket. But I just can’t justify +/- £500 for an away at Dippers or Scum, for shit offsite hospitality. I’d prefer to put that amount of money to a CL away trip.

I don’t get to pick and choose matches, I book my 3 or 4 trips home per year, in advance, and then it’s down to the fixture drawing gods what matches fall in to the days/weeks when I’m back in the UK.

As others have said, the days of a last minute(Saturday morning) decision to get down to Platt Lane and pay £5/£10 (delete as appropriate) for a game are long gone. Even though I have the financial means, the ‘common sense’ aspect of cost must be considered.

I can't make the Newcastle game.
Will I be able to sell it though the ticket exchange?
Would I get 1/19 of season ticket price for it and is it paid in cash or credit off the next season ticket?

Last season I got tkts via a mate who got off what's app. 30 quid and a screenshot.

Sounds like a deal, would this screenshot be OK, or does it need to be a nude one ?

I'm sure you could ask for a few quid more on here and benefit both you and a matchday member, just send them a QR code screenshot. I'd be interested myself but travel/accom already looks a bit steep. What block are you in, or is '117' the clue..?

Cityzens Matchday and Junior Members (that have attended a minimum of 5 home fixtures at the Etihad Stadium over the last two seasons) can purchase one ticket per Member at the following time:

Games Date Time
All games Thursday 20th July 10am
Does this mean they have purchased 5 tickets from the club, or does it also count if they have been via tickets transferred through the friends and family?

Do other clubs sell all their home league matches at once? I’ve attended matches at all levels for years and have never heard of this before.

With television etc. who honestly knows whether they’re free next March when they’ve not committed to a Seasoncard?

It's a policy the Barca boys brought in , as Barcelona have done it for years , although in their case its as a desperate need for cash to fund any summer buys. I'm not aware of any other uk teams having this policy.

When predicting future, two things are certain ... no, not death and taxes ... the two certainties for next week are:

1. These individual match tickets will be a lot higher priced than last season, and even more than any of us here expect.

2. Come Friday, most of the fixtures will be sold out. Oh, and that second lot for some fixtures that the club has held back and said will be released in October ... expect them to be put on sale with an extra fiver (or even a tenner) on the price when they eventually come out.

Feel free to bookmark this and come back to me next weekend!

I hope you’re wrong, but I fear you’ll be correct. I also think the amount of increase will be exponential depending on the opposition. +£5 as a minimum, +£15 or £20 for premium games, when compared to last year [emoji15]

PS : I didn’t give you a Like, as I don’t like your post [emoji16]

What player are we buying with the gate money ?

The divide between SC holders and those buying on a match by match basis has never been greater. The commercial management of the club has decided that they can make far more money selling at matchday prices so new SC holders are effectively going to be extinct for the foreseeable future. Even when the expanded NS opens I predict a handful of new SCs with the majority being relocations from other parts of the stadium. The vacated seats will be sold as Enhanced Ticket Bundles (AKA Silver) or at matchday/package prices.

If you have a SC (I've had one for over 40 years) then my advice is to cling on to it for dear life as if you let it go you will probably never get another one.

I’m already resigned to only attending the ‘smaller’ games, will be priced out of attending the big games.

I'm livid they didn't stagger the release of all fixtures according to points. It would have been fair and would have made no impact to their revenue. Thursday will be Real Madrid at home all over again for most PL fixtures.

I wish I held on to my ST when I moved away. In hindsight I should have got a value gold for whilst I was away or just kept my ST.

Paying £67 for the Cat A games is ridiculous when it was only a fraction of the cost when I had a ST or what ST holders pay. You can go to a decent gig for that price or it would cover two CL home games or 2 PL games from a lower category.

The problem is, cityzen members who've been going for years have been lumped in the same target group as the tourists who are willing to pay more than us as they only attend one game a season so £67 isn't expensive for them. Given football is a regular social event in our calendar, £67 is a lot for local fans who aren't tourists going to one game a season...

Ah but if City staggered by points, it'd never get to the newbies so they'd not buy again or get to the ground to spend in the shop.

The vast majority of you guys with x,ooo points will still buy next year & the year after so you're of no real concern to them apart from a minor cash stream.
