I'm quite boring so I'd pay off my mortgage and rent the house out. Probably put rental income into pension, PBs or similar

You cannot put rental income into a pension above the £2880 max threshold. It is not considered earned income for pension purposes.

Get some proper legal and financial advice.

Pay off your mortgage and any other debt.

Invest in property and some kind of long term stock like tracker funds.

And don’t tell anyone, you’ll get people asking to borrow money all the time.
