Yeah same thing. Just the new gym term for a hard gainer I keep hearing.

I am a hard gainer also however it all depends what you want. If you want muscle gain then free weights is 100% the best option. Doing insanity you will lose bad weight but cut up for sure. It's all about what you want.

Gaining weight is much more about the diet than the workout (they say fitness is 70% diet, 30% exercise) - you can make any workout as a gainer as long as the food is right. You could do worse than buying a big bag of instant oats (cheap) and mixing 2 scoops of it into each of your protein shakes. If you get going and you still aren't gaining weight, then you need to eat more (still, the right healthy food though).

Thanks for the info!

I think I will start off with some free weights and try and bulk up. Start eating more etc as from what I've read diet is possibly the most important part in that aspect. Then after 12 weeks of that try insanity and start cutting and getting fit.

Sounds good, if your looking to gain a decent amount of weight I would extend that 12 week expectation and double it to around 6 months (obviously after 12 weeks you can see for yourself if your visibly happy with your gains enough to stop). The reason being it's going to take your body a little time to adjust to the new high calorie diet that comes with trying to gain weight, and then your going to lose some of the mass you've gained when you actually come to shredding off the fat and toning up - so you want plenty on there. Once you've done, if you want more, you can just repeat the process!

I'm going through the same process and seeing great results, so just to give you an idea of my weekly route:

typically 4 workouts a week (some added cardio too depending on how I feel).
workout 1: Chest/Bi; workout 2: Shoulders/Abs; workout 3: Back/Tri; workout 4: Legs/Abs

Most importantly, the food I tend to stick too (I do slack of slightly at weekend and allow myself the odd treat - roast dinner/chocolate):
Bran flakes, eggs, chicken, brown rice, brown pasta, veg, steak, fish, sweet potato, nuts, semi-skimmed milk, lots of water!

Protein Shakes:
On workout days I take 2x 625 calorie shakes, on none workout days I take 2x normal protein w/ 2 scoop oats.

Cardio Abs straight after pure cardio wasn't much fun this morning.

Yeah that was yesterday for me, absolute killer. Some say to do them at different times of the day, but that means two showers, what a waste of water.

I can't do two separate workouts. I'm getting up at 5 so I can do them before work. I did the pure cardio warm up and session then straight into abs with abs warm down. I liked the planmight not have executed it brilliantly but still did what I could!

So how have you found t25?

i have only done a couple of the workouts just to try it, no where near as hard as Insanity, do you feel like you're getting enough of a workout?

I actually disagree. If you do it correct, core tight and keep your form you sweat like a fucker and get an excellent workout. True it isn't as intense but the results are still there for all to see. 5 Weeks Beta and then I will do the 4 week Gamma Hybrid which Arty Col emailed me. That will take me niceley into the new year. I reckon I will go at Insanity again then with some weights thrown in.
I downloaded The fast and furious version 22mins which looks excellent aswell.
I have looked at the Asylum and that just looks crazy crazy.

I had a bit of a lapse due to being ill for a week, so I went back a couple of weeks. I'm back on form now and on the 2nd week of the second month. Its not as bad as I thought to be honest. If I just split it down into sections rather than thinking of the whole hour ahead, I'm fine . Strangely enough( as with the first month) I find the recovery sessions the hardest, which are supposed to be the easy ones, I guess I'm not flexible enough.

Max Interval - No question its hard work BUT its achievable if you put your mind to it. Found the Floor Switch Kicks the hardest. The last exercise is hard but I enjoy it. Its when your in the plank position and you alternate punching ahead.

Max Plyo -Its not for the faint hearted but I enjoyed it. I found the side push ups hard and the wide in and out abs.

Certainly feeling the benefits now. My obliques are certainly feeling it and I'm feeling strong in the core. Only a few weeks now.

Best £100 I have spent.

Started month 2 today after a week off due to injury and wow! Hard but kept at it. I like his line "I'm here to kick your butt"

Was this an Insanity inflicted injury?

No. I took part in a 30 mile charity walk and knackered my feet. Blisters and a bit of a sprain by the end. Took me a week just to get over that. Did the recovery week then started on month 2.

150 Day workout plan starts at 5.30am tomorrow.

T25 and Insanity for 90 days. Alpha and Beta T25 in the mornings and Insanity at night. Followed by Gamma phase of T25 on Day 61.

Asylum Vol 1 starts on Day 91 for 30 days then Vol 2 from day 121 to day 50. Purely eating clean and following each programmes nutrition guides as closely as possible.

Tonight I'be eaten a 10" mighty meaty pizza, a caramel, a tub of Ben and Jerrys and a bag of Jelly Babies haha.

So yeah I'll be keeping this thread updated again, and hopefully won't end up 9 stone again if I follow he nutrition stuff. Can't wait.

Haha I did that last time and got the piss royally taken, will definitely be doing it again this time.

Also I know a lot of people are into these programmes, Shaun T the trainer in Insanity and T25 is planning mass workouts in the UK this year, look superb and are aiming to get more people doing these. The work this guy is doing for the health of children and adults in the US is on another planet. I don't follow that many Blog Or Twitter accounts, but this guys are well worth looking at.
