Insanity work-out

I think the key words here are "It a 30-40 min work out each night " - Hardly rocket science that you'll get fit.

correct, but alot of people dont really know how to work out. Seem's a stupid suggestion, but its true, like I have said before you see people all the time running on the street every day, that wont get you in good physical shape. You body will get use to the exercise and then will start to only use the parts of the body that it needs to, which is why its harder to loose weight in the belly areas. This workout shocks the body all the time as you are using different parts of the body each day.

If you want to change the shap of your body then you need to do both weights and cardio.
The cardio will help you to lose weight and the weights
to change the shap of your bod. If you have the shape of a big pear and alls you do is cardio, then the only thing that will happen is that you will become a smaller pear.

got the videos

dont buy into it

the course works but if u have weak joints, u got no chance. I took part, 2 months. This was in March, till now i feel pain in my knees. Also joints have started to clock because of this training method!

bogus

run and eat less.

Did you ever have pain before?

If not, I'd be more likely to put it down to incorrect footwear and/or poor form on things likes the squat jumps

On Insanity, you dont need weights.

If you have weak joints and or are heavy just mix it in with your normal routine or other workouts.
There is no way you can get through it with any sort of weakness in your legs or lower joints.

On Insanity, you dont need weights.

Likewise, though, you won't build a great deal of muscle on Insanity (certainly in the upper body), as there is not enough resistance work.

Can a 56 year old does no exercise lazy bastard do it or is it too much?

Do it at your own pace I say and just be careful as it is very high intensity.

yeah just like to echo that really, there are people on insanity your age but dont worry about not getting through it, just do as much as you can and keep at it.

The one thing is though its not only for 60 days, its something you need to do all the time to keep in the best shape of your life.

For me to get inspired about this is type insanity on youtube and look at the results people have got from it, it really helped me get to where I am now.

So after the 60 days there is a maintenance programme or you keep this up all the time?

Robbo, i could've sold you Bar-tendaz n' Thug's Workout (nowt to do with hooligans or actual thugs btw) for 20 Sh££ts !

I'm stunned that eating healthily and exercising regularly helps you to get in to shape.

Haha I was about to say.... guys, save yourself £200

Have a look on youtube for Plyometric circuits...

Buy yourself a Medicine Ball (and or a Russian Kettlebell) as well
Maybe consider installing a Punchbag Bracket (and a bag) in your home

This works out alot less than £200, with the circuits being something you can do anywhere (anytime)

This is coming from someone who's worked in a Gym:

* You don't need them. Unless you are looking to build alot of strength, or you don't like doing cardio exercise (running/cycling/walking) outside

All my cardio is done on the bag, 4x5min rounds, inbetween the rounds 30sec Squats, pressups, ab crunches.

and I hate long distance running so I choose to sprint up steep hills

Ste, its advise there is not wrong way or right way. I done it so im trying to help others. Dont make it out like im giving them bull shit advise. You worked at the gym did people pay for your advise as a fitness instructor? because people spend fortunes year in year out at the gyms paying FROM £20- £60 PM MONTH an hardly go. like I said, it worked for me so i want to give my friends on here info what i have done.

dont know why people have a go and go on a which hunt when people post stuff they may not agree with, its childish.

Whoa hold on there bud... I was asking you initially about the product, encouraging you to give more info on it out of genuine interest. I never implyed you were some Nigerian Scamster (unlike another poster)
it is a good product, although overpriced as I was pointing out - the plyometric techniques I learnt myself from many years doing circuit training at MMA gyms.

As for the price of Fitness Centres/Gyms, I clearly stated people DON'T need to join a gym, and don't have to spend £200 on the videos (theres shitloads of plyometric videos online)

eh? haha there was never any conflict bud.

The workout is great for that definition, as it will build up sweat, decrease your calories, and you're getting ripped... for Women it's superb as they won't be massively bothered about strength.

Men's Ego runs wild though and many men like to know they are stronger than the next man.it can build your core strength, will will go down well if you introduce resistance weight training (as you increase the weight, you become stronger)

This is where Gym's step in... Although I don't personally recommend them.

This insanity seems great for quick workouts, and those of us who just wanna lose weight and become more defined :)

Yeah...

If you actually followed the 'Fitness' thread, I mentioned this workout some time ago.

Anyway, it fooked me up cos being a diabetic on insulin injections, you have to know how much to take as a result of vigorous exercise.

I was losing the weight, but having mega hypos every night!!

So until my doc agrees that I can stop taking the insulin and train, I can't do it!

A few of the guys do insanity at the fire station they set up a TV and get the mats out in the pump bay. To the untrained eye it looks quite easy at first but my god when that hour is up there are pools of sweat on the floor. As mentioned its a 50/60 minute that burns approx 1000 cals. That might not seem much but i had to run over 10 miles last week to burn that many cals.

Would this be Beneficial for women? I don't have that much weight to lose, but would like to tone my stomach, arse and thighs.
