Insanity work-out

I do Insanity and it does work but your have to be very very dedicated to it because it will kick your ass. You will sweat buckets, im not fat but just wanted to get in better shape and tone up. For the first 2 weeks i could not feel my legs and you will do nothing but cuss at Shawn T. But its a good program, i also drink a shake as a meal replacement and i lost weight in two week. Just keep at it.

A few of the guys do insanity at the fire station they set up a TV and get the mats out in the pump bay. To the untrained eye it looks quite easy at first but my god when that hour is up there are pools of sweat on the floor. As mentioned its a 50/60 minute that burns approx 1000 cals. That might not seem much but i had to run over 10 miles last week to burn that many cals.
What station you at mate?

Winsford, Cheshire. :-)
Do you want your ex Chief back ;)

Yeah Im finding that I am loosing energy on these max interval training, where its almost impossible to get through it with out resting more. I defiantly need to look at my food to give me more energy when training.

lol, not a chance. I am very private with things like that. you will just have to take my word on it.

Booo ;)

Agree. There should be a fat bastard before pic, followed by a slim toned muscular adonis!

Listen to what FantasyIreland says.

He knows much more about this stuff than me or you. You can't go far wrong if you read and take on-board what he says on fitness.

Wow,i appreciate your recommendation Damo, however, while i still train hard and posess a good knowledge on the topic,i'm somewhat of a shadow of my former self these days, subsequently forgetting much along the way unfortunately....... Saying that i'm more than happy to lend a hand or offer help where i can.

My best advice - train hard and consistently but keep it simple and don't forget - Diet is the key!

Don't sell yourself short bud.

Just out of interest, anyone fancy posting the diet they recommend on this 'insanity workout' ? Just for my own perusal really, atm I suspect (like the workout itself) it's just re-hashed/re-branded/ packaged from various old school techniques.

A weeks sample would be best but a day would do if it's very similar, cheers.

You don't have to follow the diet. You can just use myfitnesspal and stick to a calorie controlled eating plan

I'm stunned that eating healthily and exercising regularly helps you to get in to shape.

Haha I was about to say.... guys, save yourself £200

Have a look on youtube for Plyometric circuits...

Buy yourself a Medicine Ball (and or a Russian Kettlebell) as well
Maybe consider installing a Punchbag Bracket (and a bag) in your home

This works out alot less than £200, with the circuits being something you can do anywhere (anytime)

This is coming from someone who's worked in a Gym:

* You don't need them. Unless you are looking to build alot of strength, or you don't like doing cardio exercise (running/cycling/walking) outside

All my cardio is done on the bag, 4x5min rounds, inbetween the rounds 30sec Squats, pressups, ab crunches.

and I hate long distance running so I choose to sprint up steep hills
Good points, get a set of real kettle bells and that's all you really need tbf. But some people need constant instructions so maybe DVDs are best for them. Me on the otherhand, I wouldn't pay someone to tell me what is basically available free online.

Cheers for that Bob, it was the specifics I was after, it is just all re-packaged/branded principles and techniques put into a fancy new box, nothing new, nothing groundbreaking, just common sense, nothing wrong with any of that though, if it spurs people on to their goals then you can't really say anything bad about it because it will work (it says it's not low calorie or low carbs, but it is for the majority of people out there) and that alone will will account for a large amount of weight/fat loss.

Cheers again for the link Bob.

I think part of why Insanity works (well, it did for me.), is that Shaun T is pretty decent at keeping you motivated.

There's no way you'd set yourself up with just a stopwatch and do these moves for an hour, with 30 second rest breaks, but he keeps you going.

Dabbled with P90X before but didn't keep with it, too much weight training.

''Purchased'' Insanity earlier and have just completed the fit test, then went straight into Day 1, Plyometric Cardio Circuit.

Made it to the end, wanted to throw up. I love it. Took before picture, another picture in 7 days and so on. Quality.

Just downloaded this.
Will start it tomorrow! I want to get fit for the "lads holiday" next year. I have been running 2-3 miles a day for the past week to help me get back my fitness. Cutting out all the shit out of my diet as well.

Will factor this in as well.

Now to work out how to do it considering either my mum or dad will drop me at work/pick me up!

Better off spending £200 on a good heart rate monitor and a note pad.
Hit the road 5 nights a week and write down EVERYTHING you eat.

The truth is out there ;-)

and 1000 calories in a 40 minute workout is bollocks I bet it's closer to 600 in reality.

It's all about your dedication I have seen a tubby little fuker in 6 months rip up to competition standard but it cost him over 6k in food suppliments and training

And he basically lived like a monk no booze no fats 6 meals a day

If u want it anyone can do it but the sacrifice is too great for most
