Insanity work-out

Better off spending £200 on a good heart rate monitor and a note pad.
Hit the road 5 nights a week and write down EVERYTHING you eat.

The truth is out there ;-)

and 1000 calories in a 40 minute workout is bollocks I bet it's closer to 600 in reality.

They probably include the effect of EPOC (Excess Post-exercise Oxygen Consumption) in that 1,000 calories to be fair GD.

Just downloaded this.
Will start it tomorrow! I want to get fit for the "lads holiday" next year. I have been running 2-3 miles a day for the past week to help me get back my fitness. Cutting out all the shit out of my diet as well.

Will factor this in as well.

Now to work out how to do it considering either my mum or dad will drop me at work/pick me up!

can i have a link please? i wouldnt mind doing this remember watching the whole advert stoned waiting for comedy central to start.. :)

Will pm

I'm really tempted to do this... been doing some running and pressups / squats / dips etc but not really feeling the benefit any more and can't fit any more in timewise, so thinking of doing this instead...
I am concerned that I won't be able to do it though, and will definitely struggle doing the diet side of things since I wouldn't want to inflict the same food on the wife / kids...

so my question is, how hard is this for a relative beginner, and how drastically will the benefits be reduced if I don't really follow the diet plan? (I eat 3 miles a day and will stop snacking, don't really drink alcohol)

Cheers

You don't have to follow that diet. Just use myfitnesspal and log in everything you eat and your exercise. It will calculate your exact calorie needs and knows exactly what's in all foods. It even has a barcode scanner (it's free and there is a phone app)

As for insanity, it's hard and I wouldn't reccomend doing any other exercise whilst your doing it.

The suggestion is to switch to another programme like p90x then return to insanity. I think when you get where you want to be you can reduce the days you do it to 3 or 4 and be able to maintain as long as you eat sensibly

Day 2 done. One of the hardest workouts I've ever done. Literally a pool of sweat by my feet. Awesome.

Dabbled with P90X before but didn't keep with it, too much weight training.

''Purchased'' Insanity earlier and have just completed the fit test, then went straight into Day 1, Plyometric Cardio Circuit.

Made it to the end, wanted to throw up. I love it. Took before picture, another picture in 7 days and so on. Quality.

Can you put those pics up for us to see please? And you did take them naked, right, because that's an essential part - the whole thing won't work otherwise.

On a serious note, I might have a look at this. I've been doing my own workout at home - got some weights and bought a book called You Are Your Own Gym, that as the title suggests offers all kinds of exercises using your own bodyweight as resistance. Using videos is good too, it's basically like having your own instructor because you just don't stop until they tell you to.

Haha yeah Day 2 was definitely harder than Day 1, although technically I'm on Day 3 as I did both the Fit Test and the first workout back to back. The missus has decided to do Turbofire which looks more focused on the female side of things. Fed baby, fed self, getting in bed, I'm sore, ha!
