Insanity work-out

Did the fitness test yesterday

switch kicks 104
power jacks 38
knees 60
jumps 25
globes jumps 5
suicides 10
push up jacks 22
low plank oblique 20

I must admit i had a longer break than normal between the suicides and push up jacks.

Did the Plyometric cardio tonight.
Which wasn't as bad as i expected. So now i'm asking myself if i could of done better (it still killed me) I had a good heart rate going and was sweating like mad.

Feeling really good now after a shower and having some chicken and pasta.

Keep up the good work people

I often wonder if i could push harder, then try harder next time and think the same thing after that. I reckon it's a good motivational technique! Plus, then you're only competing with yourself which can also be handy

Exactly how I feel, especially half hour after the workout when I'm back to ''normal''

Hammered it tonight then hammered a lot of chicken and brown pasta. Fueling up for cardio recovery and upper body weight training tomorrow. Found it in the video package but it's not on the schedule. Had a gander around other forums and they tend to add it in either on fit test day or cardio recovery day. Missed lifting a few weights.

I've seen that one but not actually checked it out, does it require actual weights?

Yeah dumbells by the look of it, luckily had a few sets in the garage. 1 set for biceps and a lighter set for Triceps. It's a bit like the other workouts but with weight training thrown in. Just worried I'm going to lose all my size and end up looking like Mo Farah.

Lol, again, something I've been wondering about, though none of the guys on the DVD are particularly Farah esque, and there is a fair bit if upper body stuff, press Ups and so forth

Very true and I'm betting by the time month 2 comes I won't be lifting anything. Talking of press ups the level drills where you get up, get down, then press up, floor sprint are horrible. As are In and Outs, can't walk very well tonight haha

Day 2 done last night. ouch.
As Rosler said, those push up drills are murder, how fast can that fucker count as well!

It amazes me how quick they all move, particularly in things like the 1-2-3, I'm halfway through 1 and they're on their way back!

Wait til you get towards the end of month 2. Level 2 drills (down, back, 4 runs, 4 push ups, then back up) become Level 3 drills, (down, back, 16 runs, 16 push ups, then back up).

I managed to keep tempo on the first set with Shaun T, but after that, they were coming back up as I was still on my way down. Very hard going!

was a week in and just happened to get shingles - was killing it and just got over the hump. thankfully i caught it early enough and it should be gone by next week. have to start over again next week. hurts like a mother fucker. doc said it can be brought on by intense physical exercise, which made sense....totally pissed off as im out of commission till this clears up.

Was watching my fella do the level 3 drills last night. OMG !!
Try watching a bunch of uncoordinated firemen do it for the first time, I was in stitches at the back, there were arms and legs everywhere.

Haha. You'll all get the hang of it and as your fireman I applaud you all for your all for keeping your fitness levels up. Keep it going

def do a P90x insanity hybrid - minus back and legs and include varoius insanity workouts - there's plenty of programes you can google.

I think that program involves weights and a pull up bar. I think I saw a pull up bar for about £15 on Tesco direct. Argos might do them also. It looks a good program to do after insanity.
