A good session can put you back WEEKS, though you may not realise it.

You cant go on a 2 day jolly drinking most of it and expect your work out to have much effect, your just ruining the work you have done.
Have a couple but if your wanting to get smashes all the time at away matches and match days this work out regime will not help much, nor will any probably.

Wow holy fuck i only did the fit test and it nearly killed me.

Saying that i have not done any fitness training (or very little) for the last 11 years. It was like circuit training we used to do in the forces, the brain was saying come on push it out and the body was screeming Hang on fatty you're 47 now.

The recovery time for me was biggest shock, how long it took me to come around.
Had a shower now and feel great.

I'm 47 as well Dave, not done a great deal of physically demanding stuff my entire life, gave up smoking 9 weeks ago, started a healthy eating plan a few weeks ago and started insanity last week.
The first couple of days nearly killed me, I was struggling to lift my leg over the edge of the bath after a shower day 1 and 2 and my knees were killing me!
Started week 2 and feel pretty decent tbh, gonna stick with it and dig deep!

Alright fellas - me and the missus are interested in doing something like this.. I read earlier in the thread that wildfire is one for t'birds - not sure we're both up to insanity although I reckon I could give it a whirl

Am 37 and never been to the gym. Am luckily naturally pretty slim and play 5 a side every Monday - gave up drinking (more or less) and smoking a few years ago before the kids came along.

Firstly, how would a weekly game of footie fit in with the regime? It takes me long enough to recover from that already as it is!!
Secondly, as a bloke, is it 'unmanly' and not worthwhile to do the wildfire thing? Should I 'get' insanity also and do it in the other room?

Cheers for any advice :)

Pretty amazing how many of us are doing it. Do your best and forget the rest.

Pure Cardio tonight, fucking hate it, but did it. Feeling pretty good and have one last ciggy in the packet for later. Food is lasting forever in the Rosler household as we're both eating sensibly, can even see how much money is saved from takeaway pizza and beer.

my wife and I do turbofire and insanity in separate rooms, I've seen a bit of turbofire and it looks hard, but seems to be more about cardio rather than strength, so probably depends what you want out of it.
There are fellas doing turbofire in the vids so it will do you well for fitness/ weight loss but perhaps not so much for definition maybe? Dunno though...

Done the fitness test for the first time tonight.

I was training quite a lot and eating healthy before I went on holiday 3 weeks ago came back and have not done a thing and started eating whatever.

I was really surprised how fkd I felt after the test and how low my energy levels were. Got threw it but I think by eating more healthy you will get threw it a lot better.

I do turbofire on a Friday only because I do Zumba Monday Wednesday. It fills a gap for me. Zumba is working really well and when I shed abit more I'm going to crank up the turbofire to get the last few pounds off and gain the definition. How is your wife finding it ? I am finding the coordination on the boxing moves a little tough because chalean is so fast

-- Mon Sep 03, 2012 9:11 pm --

Hey Bob,
She is enjoying it, but like you struggles with the routine, though to be fair she's only been doing it a couple of days. She's of the opinion that once she's up to speed with the moves and the routine it will be considerable harder...

I'm doing pure cardio tomorrow, scared...

I am quite pleased actually, already feel like I'm benefitting and not in a lot of pain at all... perhaps I'm not digging deep enough but it's flipping hard work!

I assume you've done the whole program, what results did you see? How easily have you maintained your fitness afterwards?
