Insanity work-out

Pure cardio and cardio abs back to back for the 1st time today, screaming like a little girl at during the ab work.
This six pack is going to take some doing!
Week 2 done, doing FUCK ALL on the rest day tomorrow.
 
Had my rest day on wednesday so just done Pure Cardio today.

Fucking hell, roasting down here and doing that work out has left me fucked. Gonna take the dog out and get some food in me before stoke game!

Have you lost weight first? Abs only show when the fat around them has been lost. So many people spend hours on abs but neglect the cardio required for them to show in the first place. Make sure you do more cardio than abs you only need less than 15 minutes ab work a week.

yeah I'd heard that, been going the gym and doing mainly cardio and NO ab work at all for about a year then started insanity 2 weeks ago.
Today was the first ab dedicated bit and it HURT due to it being the first work out they have had in some time!
Hoping to improve my shameful performance next week.

Ok thats good keep at it if you need any tips there are several posters like Fantasy Ireland and others who can help. You can also PM even though I do not follow the insanity work out I have been training for a few years now.

I've just been having protein shakes which is abut 30g of protein no carbs

I normally have a slack handful of almonds as a snack in between meals

Carrots, celery, water or sugar free gum are all good for hunger pangs, if that's what you mean?

I tend to have a piece of fruit, a piece of veg or a yoghurt
 
Pure Cardio tonight was HARD! Maybe it was cos my day off was yesterday?

Feeling ok now tho. Gonna have a nice relaxing bath.
 
Well it turns out I've had two rest days. Daughters cake took longer than I thought. Will just have to carry on tomorrow.

I cant even bake the mrs a cake for an extra day off cos she's on the program with me!

I think reading this thread about how intense it is has put my fella off ever trying insanity!

I'm not halfway through month 1 yet and have been pondering this...
I think I'll have a week off and start again from week 1

I know what you mean I may start on Wednesday, as tomorrow I will be staring football again and Tuesday i will be in madrid.

dont want a week off though as i will start making myself feel guilty

Yeah, potentially it might make it more difficult to start again, but I read somewhere taking a week off is a good idea from a recovery perspective.

Its a tough one really as im a lot fitter and my recovery seems to be quicker but i feel as tired while doing the workout, I do keep pushing myself so thats what that will be. Its great looking in the mirror and not seeing a over weight guy anymore. just need for these abs to start surfacing now :)
 
Just starting week two. As above, I feel just as shattered while doing the workout but I don't seem to ache like before. My missus seems to think she can see the difference but I can't. It's still only a week in mind Do I can't expect to much change.
She took a pic a couple of days ago so i do have a reference picture.
