Two of the three players you've mentioned are terrible examples, Walcott has been rank average since about 19 and Rooney was retired effectively before 30.

I think people need to calm down with regards Foden I really do.
Who else from that u17 WC winners is playing more than Foden??

Let him developed at the right pace. Compare him to Silva, Xavi or Iniesta. Players with similar physical attributes, not shit off a shovel wingers who age terribly in general or physical freaks like Rooney.
Rooney is burnt out because he didn’t look after himself, smoked, boozed, poor nutrition and a crap trainer .. I was not comparing Foden to anyone aside from the age they played at so you have misconstrued what I said on that one ...! Let’s leave it there and agree to disagree ..!

I absolutely agree with that. He is a a great talent but could use a bit more bulk.

However, the point is being made by others that in times past many players were established first team players by the age of 18. I remember when I was a kid the adage was “if he’s good enough he’s old enough”. If you look at the careers of many players they were experienced first team players in their teens (our very own Colin Bell and Brian Kidd for example) but these days there appears to be a tendency to hold players back until they are more physically mature. Nothing wrong with it - it’s just a different philosophy.
It's completely pointless comparing youngsters to others of the same age and saying well he is the same age so he must play as well, every kid is different and when pep says he is ready to play more he will,he'll be managed so as dave is winding down he will be coached to be ready to take his place full time,as for playing for england then no thanks, the media will hammer him as soon as he puts a foot wrong

Ireland vs Wales; the footballing equivalent of a S****s/M*******y "best of" CD.

*Memo to our younger BMers; if you're not sure what a CD is, ask your dad or grandad*
Is a CD one of them new fangled things that supposedly will eventually replace the 78 rpm records
