IPTV

VPN for ITV X/iPlayer . Make up a name and address in this country to sign up with.
Unfortunately it recognizes my internet provider as Spanish.
In the UK you use a VPN to change or disguise your real location. I would use one to apparently show my location as London or another UK server rather than Spain.

I'm in Thailand at present and use Nord to tell it we're in the UK and we're able to watch BBC/ITV/C4 if we want. All of the other stuff installed on the stick is available without the VPN.

Thanks for advice, I am able to watch all the live normal UK channels via my iptv sub but despite being accepted onto the various apps for ITV, channels 4 and 5 and bbc etc they all refuse to allow me to view historical series etc saying it is restricted to UK only.
Like you I need nord vpn or another good vpn to overcome this problem.

My problem is having a Spanish internet so am not able to access say itvx.
Unfortunately my iptv provider does not do tv replays but I get fabulous movie and sport channels together with US film and entertainment. so have a lot to be pleased about.
Thanks G.

I get most of what I want to watch outside of IPTV via utube or Cinema HD
I have Sky but, when in Spain, no matter what VPN I’ve tried, I can never get it to load. Would love to know what I’m doing wrong…

In my very basic knowledge of networking perhaps a wireguard server might work.

As I understand it, you are ostensibly connecting to your pc in the UK then piggybacking your own internet connection then sending the data back to yourself where ever in the world via an encrypted tunnel.

Networking is really not my forte but i think i have got the basic premise right

I think vpn s work that way by connecting to a compliant server in a different country then continuing the journey to its destination that needs say UK to be the sender location.
Sky and other UK based channels are supposed to be solely for UK and Ireland customers only. Why I don't know.

Hi guys, I'm looking for a good, reliable provider, ideally working on PC, Nvidia Shield and Amazon stick/TV. My current one is pretty good, but recently a little less reliable and my sub ends at the end of this month. I would like a reliable, decent cost ideally with VOD too, (doesn't need to be cheap, but not silly) could anyone please advise?
Any advice would be most welcome. :)

Yes I think you are right. You definitely know the server location you are connecting from is UK based because it is in your gaff in England. I'm not sure how commercial VPNs work but i'd hazard loads of I.P masking is going on and Sky will be onto those ways of obfuscating their actual location.

Again i could be way off the mark, just trying to think out loud

He’s not connecting from UK though, he’s connecting from Spain.

It’s just get a vpn, connect to a U.K. server and then sign up and bbc/itvx will all work fine.

Perhaps i am not being clear or i'm wrong in how it works

Spanish IP connects to Wireguard server in the UK then wireguard connects to the sky go app... hes adding 1 extra hop. Sky wont work out where the request originates from only that the server in the UK is requesting access

If he did that it would work.

Currently he’s not using a VPN.

Thought i'd read he couldn't get it running with a VPN. That was why I suggested wireguard, which effectively sets up your own VPN server I believe.

No, he hasn’t got one so can’t even sign up to itv/bbc as they recognise he’s coming from Spain.

It’s just get a vpn and then sign up and he’ll be sorted.

Opera browser had one built in that circumvented Geolocation of BBci player...unless they got wise to it and blacklisted them

Signing for the apps is not a problem. Using them is when my Spanish provider is recognized and the app refuses to work with above as it's explanation.
As I said in a previous post the iptv I use works perfectly for live channels in bbc and it but needs the apps for historical TV series etc..
Others I know in Spain use nord vpn so I know that works but have found a workaround with cinema HD or similar apps that seem to work well particularly on US channels where many original series are made for US and Canadian viewers.
