Iranian General killed by US Drone.

This probably belongs in a separate thread, but I try (and usually fail) to enter into a semi-conscious quasi yogic state, even for a one hour flight. But with the kids and general hubbub I rarely get to shut my eyes. Go to fly to Denmark in the summer and I'm already nervous!
I’m flying over for the West Ham home game in February and due to the Saudi blockade, we have to fly straight into Iranian airspace and then over Iraq. So I’m thrilled.

Some are making out conspiracy theory regarding the civilian airline without any evidence.

What so shocking about all of this is we still haven't seen any official statement from the Pentagon or the White house regarding the missile attack.

The one on the air base? I'm not sure there's much to say. It was a face saving "attack" by Iran. From what I've heard on the radio, all U.S. personnel were in bunkers and quite safe. The Pentagon and Ft. Meade were aware of the launches as soon as they happened. It's my understanding through satrliites and tracking the heat signatures of the launch it was not a huge threat.

I should think, if the Iranian government really wanted to kill many Americans in Iraq there are better way such as car bombs, suicide bombers or a group of men armed with rifles making an attack.

I feel for you mate. When flying over Iran/Iraq the other day, it went through my mind a little bit but you just think ‘nah, won’t happen to me’. My mate is coming back from Thailand on Saturday, he’s shitting himself as his stop over is in Abu Dhabi. It’s a fairly big detour for airline companies to go around Iraq/Syria/Iran.
