Re: "I was neither happy or sad if we lost."

It seems he was unwilling to fight for his place, and as it was a bad thing. and what he told Milner, just highlight it.

And because he sat on the bench he didnt care if we lose? that not right. thats kind of attitude will nog give him any favours in this sport.

I like Ireland, but its clear, hes not up for the challenge to be the best of the best..

-- Fri Aug 20, 2010 6:48 pm --

It seems he was unwilling to fight for his place, and as it was a bad thing. and what he told Milner, just highlight it.

Hang on... Ireland having a go at youngsters for splashing the cash?

The same bloke that spent £160k on an aquarium and got custom monogrammed seats is talking about others being big time Charlies. Well fuck me dead.

Once a rag.....

Re: Ireland Speaks Out

I thought the Ireland residence as shown in Wags Come Dine With Me was furnished in a very restrained manner. In fact it was a model of good taste - the fish tank was totally in tune with its surroundings. (I have a video of the programme if anyone would like me to post it.)

Unnecessary really, all he's going to gain from this is a shitload of stick off some of our fans. He should have a look at the respect Dunney still has from most and keep his mouth shut, He'll still get a good reception from me though.

nope i did too. was only a matter of time before he came out and slagged city off oh well.

He's not only displaying a lack of feeling for the club though ....... it's a real kick in the teeth for fans who relied on guys like him to CARE enough to WANT to fight for a place in their team.

I'd expect better of a player like Stephen Ireland than to say something like this ....... he may well argue that he's only being truthful , but it's not something that fans who idolised him , and who paid to watch him (when he played) , really want to hear .

Even if he didn't get on with the manager , why say something like this and infuriate fans who only wanted the best for you?

Most of us only wanted him to maintain his initial good form ....... and he appeared popular enough.

He's probably just thrown away any chance of getting a good reception when he returns here ....... at least from a good portion of our supporters anyway.

Right - off to burn last years home shirt with number 7 and Ireland on the back.

And we all thought Bellamy would be the one to slag us off.

This is the main reason I have never and will never have a players name on my back. Players come and go and I feel very few have any real feelings for the club. Ireland grew up as a glory hunting Rag fan, he had a job with City for a few years, but that's it.

But he did give us some moments of joy while he did have a job entertaining us Citizens for a few years, so for that I hope he has an okay career with Villa.

As for Bellamy I was actually thinking if there was a Prem Lg break weekend but the Championship schedule is still on that I'd go down to Cardiff for the weekend and cheer on Bellers. Ireland has never made me feel that way about him!
