Not going to help get you a regular starting role, and probably explains the dizzy spells he had that time...

Teeheehee :o) Love it

Re: "I was neither happy or sad if we lost."

Disappointing. I suppose the argument could be made a degree of initial faith came with a bumper new contract.

However, I'm sure the less demands at Villa will see him thrive.

Good luck all the same.

Re: "I was neither happy or sad if we lost."

Looked to me like he was close to bursting into tears. I think he's devastated at having to leave the club he has been at for half his life and gutted that he'll miss out on the rest of the revolution.

That's the way it looked to me too ...

and that makes his words appear even more puzzling.

Re: "I was neither happy or sad if we lost."

Very twatish thing to say to be honest, whether he wanted to go or not, he should have respect for City fans.

I really can't understand Ireland saying that ........

i'd like to think that if i'd come through the ranks at a club then i'd have a bit of feeling for it , and especially for it's supporters ....... but to say you felt neither 'happy or sad' if the side lost would suggest that he didn't possess the depth of feeling for this club that he should have had ....... even from the bench!

We have ex-players like Dickov and Goater saying that they still love the club , yet here we have Ireland saying that he felt like this whilst he was STILL HERE?

Not good , in my eyes ..... and if that's the case then maybe it's best that he did leave.

No maybe about it mate. He can fuck off if he thinks he is getting my applause when he returns with Villa now. There wasn't the need for that. As in he did NOT have to say that. The only people that would upset would be the fans, not Mancini or Cook et al.

Nothing to get upset about he still has my best wishes at Villa. It may explain why he could not turn it on when he came on as a sub - remember the last Derby. Anyway I also remember the great days of joy that Stevie gave me - so good luck.

Let's just move on - it is a new beginning (again) :-)
His mental state, character and attitude account for that, what we're buying with Milner is someone who would have reacted very differently, just as he has throughout his career. Good luck to SI, Villa are in for some whacky times!

Re: "I was neither happy or sad if we lost."

Disappointing from Stevie but we all say things we don't mean when we're hurting.

Re: "I was neither happy or sad if we lost."

That shows exactly why Ireland is no longer at City. Mancini has talked about the importance of the "squad" and the need for rotation. Every player has to be part of the team, even if you aren't playing. Ireland clearly didn't consider himself part of the team unless he was starting so what's the point? Probably shows why his sub appearance against United was so poor too!

Re: "I was neither happy or sad if we lost."

At least now it might sink in with some of the Ireland arse lickers! This is exactly why Mancini got rid. I said it last week, he is an immature little wanker who believes his own hype way too much and spits his dummy out when he doesn't get his own way. He needs to look at how Tevez applied himself when on the bench for the rags, running round like a fucking nutter trying his very best for the team.
I had previously said that although I wanted him out I would give him a great reception on his return. After this I won't be giving any sort of reception either way. The little tosser isn't worthy of the cheers or boos of any blue in my opinion!
