Can I just say CATEGORICALLY - there's been no transfer request from Ste, verbal or otherwise. These stories are a complete fucking load of dogshit.

Good

Best news I've heard all day. Really hope it stays that way.

Should've realised something was up when I was worrying about what Daniel Taylor has written!

That said the Ireland situation still concerns me.

This is just my opinion, but I think someone at the club is playing silly fucking beggars. As someone said earlier, Mancini said after the season ended he wanted to keep him, and Ste's said over and over he wants to stay. So why the fuck would he hand in a transfer request? Utter bollocks as I said...

Why not just wait and see ,by the start of the season I,m sure there will be more than a few players coming in and out of the club.Ones who are not involved in the world cup could well have their futures sorted out earlier.Either way there,s probably some truth in the story,Ireland doesn,t give the impression he,s a happy camper ,though his wages would be prohibitive to some future clubs who might fancy him.

Great news. It would have cut me to the quick to see him tearing up defences for United or Arsenal.

Your future's here, Stevie, don't let the muppets drive you out.

Me too Dave. I couldn't take it - even if he signed for a club like Everton, where you know he'd make us look like absolute fools.

We'd probably give him away for a daft price, like half an Arteta.

He must stay.

I'd only want him to stay if his heart was really and truly in it, but I can think of nothing would make me happier this year than seeing him spraying it about, and pouncing on the slow passes... All the focus on playing 'out-of-position' and so forth has to stop, Steven has got to keep it 100% positive, has to keep looking forward not backwards, otherwise a change really would be better for all concerned.

Yes it was, and I stand by it.

The gist of it was that Ireland has several clubs interested and him leaving would be a disaster.

I'm now lead to believe that the club have told him they don't want to sell and that that is enough for him to stick around and fight for his place.

If that is the case, why are these stories hitting the press? Billy seems to think it could be the club, maybe it could be agents making mischief or a potential suitor stirring the waters.

I'm personally delighted by the information that he doesn't want to go.
