Irish Current Affairs.

The census blew that idea out the water. Only 19% consider themselves northern Irish

How so?
I would find 19% quite significant.
The idea Aguero was putting forward was one of a provincial division of the country governance or perhaps I took him up wrong.

Perhaps the Irish Federation or some sort.
I’ll let him elaborate. Either way the idea of identifying yourself as first and foremost Northern Irish, and that idea spreading, cuts across religious norms I would suspect.

I could be totally misinterpreting the significance.

I would tend to agree with Eamo's interpretation of this...thats a pretty significant number of people identifying as Northern Irish over being British or Irish.

10-20 years ago being "Northern Irish" wasnt really a thing

I'd say most, if not all, of them will be of a Unionist persuasion...but its interesting to me that they are effectively saying they are less British than before

Thanks for confirming.
That’s my perception but not living there couldn’t be sure.
I have a nephew up there opening up a second physio clinic. His sister is moving up having taken a job in Queens Hospital.

My young lad’s girlfriend is studying in Queens University, but the reality is I wouldn’t be talking regularly with them and not about politics anyway.

No you're spot on, Cork, Galway, Dublin and Belfast.

I’m glad we are not still linked to Sterling. Having the Euro insulates us a bit from what’s going on in the UK.

Its not just here that this con has been pulled - I will go to my grave hating an echelon of people who are devoid of any feeling for their fellow man - my last words may well be "bunch of cunts"

You should watch Blindboy boatman's stuff. It'll make you cry but it hits some fucking nails.
