Is 37/38 too old to have kids?

I'm gonna be 41 this month. I like the idea of the good bits but I'm a right selfish bastard. I'll just be nice to my sister's kids. Missus hates Kids. I'm the whisperer

I'm 42 and my wife is 33 - after 3 years of trying she became pregnant yesterday

Buzzing!

I have just turned 40 and my eldest is 14, next 11 and then 7. I have less patience with them than I did ten years ago and am definitely more tired. Wouldn't like to be starting having kids post 35 in all honesty. (But if you haven't had any you simply have to do it - cannot imagine life without my kids)

I wouldn't say so, seems about right. Financially you should be getting sorted as they hit 20s, you'll still be youngish, as you will as they grow up and you'll have the 38 years of experience and will have hopefully got most of the things you want to do without kids out of your system.

I had my first at 24, last at 30, I felt much better with my last, maybe just experience, but yeah 38 sounds good and if like me, having them will be the best thing you can do in life.

Congratulations Theo555!

I'm 39 and I've got an 18 month old. The missus is badgering me for another. My boss has just turned 50 and he has 4 year old twins.

There was a lad in my school whos mum and dad were older than my nan and grandad, that was weird.

I was 43when we had my daughter the wife 30 bloody hell its knackering but fantastic, I've done all my partying when I was younger so don't miss it at all, she's nearly 4 now and I'm 47 I'm a lot greyer and tired as fuck but I wouldn't swap it for anything.
