Is anyone else worried??

Chelsea has brought in hazard, marin, oscar and kevin de bruyn. All four are central attacking midfielders. Then they have Paizon who is another central attacking midfielder and mata as well. So while it looks impressive, they have bought the same player over and over again in the same position. i know people will say they can play wide, but all of these players natural position is the middle. They lost Drogba who was their get out card for years. They dont have one reliable striker right now

As far as United goes, Powell is just a kid. kagawa is very good player. But unless they sort out their central midfield i dont think they will do too well.

Not worried no. We do still have the best squad in the league. But you can't stand still at this level. And if we intend having a serious go in Europe this year,as well as defend our title, then a couple of new faces to freshen things up is essential.

Not at all, we've had the best players,(on paper) in the league for a while now, some have taken time to settle some never will, but as far as our squad is concerned they now know how to win a title. We have who we need and should only buy on our terms, if Mancini thinks we need someone let him buy. We spent a fortune to get here, and we are all reminded about that in recent times by our red mates, I just love the fact that the teams playing catch-up and spending stupid money on average players are the same 1's that slagged us off out of desperation!

Just as a quick point to people saying such and such was brought in to get rid of players like RSC and Adebayor.... How the fuck do you do that if they won't go? They are like crabs ffs. Ade has two years left I think. He will be gone in 2015 and not before IMO

I'm not worried. There will be seasons when United and Chelsea win the league in the near future, this coming season might be one of them for one of them. We will challenge and we will win the league in the near future too, this season we could retain it, we might not, but I'll never be worried as we will be up the top for the foreseeable future.

Worried was when we had Spencer Prior as a main centre half in 2000-01 and wondering "are we going to stay up this season?"<br /><br />-- Tue Jul 24, 2012 8:22 am --<br /><br />

They don't have to be named in the squad though. It is a product of our sharp rise to the too that we will be left with deadwood that took us from tenth to fifth and are now not good enough for title challenges. It's a bit shit, it doesn't look great, we are losing a lot of money on them but at the same time we wont have to do anything like that again and we wont have the same problems in the future.

I'd rather us not sign anyone this summer than panic buy the wrong player/s.
I think we need a left sided C/B as Savic is not ready at the moment. I'd also like to see us sign a right winger, restoring Jonno to his natural L/W for a kind of plan B, to beat the bus parkers when all else is failing.

We now have ongoing stability and a winning mentality that will only make us stronger as a squad so no need to worry about the others trying to play catch up.

It'd be foolish to be blasé about next season when we won it by such a fine margin last time around. Although we'll obviously improve by virtue of all the players being more familiar with each other and so on, I don't think anyone should expect anything other than a tight season, with or without us making new signings.

An injury to Kompany or Lescott would leave us exposed without a signing of someone to play as cover. In an ideal world that'd be someone who can also play centre mid such as that Martinez bloke. But no need to panic.

We were never gonna go out and buy three or four expensive new players again , Platinis rules have seen to that , and City have one eye on complying with them ......

and it certainly hasn't helped our cause that the dead-wood remains here either ...... the likes of RSC and Adebayor haven't proved easy to shift

I very much doubt whether Van Persie has chosen us , so it could well be that we don't see anyone arrive at the club this summer ....... and to be honest , despite the title win , i think we needed to ...... we need quality strength in depth to tackle the Champions League , and all the domestic competitons.

It could well be that Adebayor takes us all by surprise and opts to stay , he certainly knows the goals are , as he proved yet again last season ..... but should De Jong leave , as seems possible , we could do with midfield back up.
