Maybe we have just been shit all through this champions league campaign
And thats the reason we are at the bottom of the group
Just a thought

Not a very well thought through thought.

I don't think this thread is about last night. But even allowing for our shitness, we basically won last night but had the victory adjusted back to a draw.
I thought the way the thread has been going from what i have read
Platini fixed the draw
And also the refs have been told to make us finish bottom?

And for what its worth it was a pen and the goal should of been given.

No Sjk, the Dortmund pen was a pen. As was Utds against Arse, Chelsea against Lescott and City's against Chelsea last season.

-- Wed Nov 07, 2012 9:29 am --

I guess we'll have to disagree on the Dortmund one then. His arm was about 2ft away from the ball when it was struck. I seem to remember the overwhelming majority on here thought it was an extremely harsh decision, too.

For me, the clincher to the OP's question, is

"If football is NOT corrupt, why is NOTHING being done to stop the diabolical decisions that we see week in, week out?"

Why is there no review of referees and of refereeing? Why is technology not being looked at? Why is the CL draw done in such a way that *obviously* allows fixing, when they could change it to one that makes fixing impossible?

Isn't video technology being introduced in the next year or two?

Can I ask, in what way do you think it is fixed? The draw that is?

I do agree that the draw needs to be revamped though. It should be the Champions, and the Champions only, that play in the competition. I'd could possibly stretch to allowing 2nd place in, just to make the competition bigger. But 3rd n 4th is bollocks.

Well if it isn't corrupt why have the fa not said anything to whiskey nose about his comments on Saturday? He said after wig head missed the penalty I will take the penalty next week, so either he can see into the future or he already knows they will get a penalty at the weekend

Football is definitely corrupt.

You only have to look at how the CL is 'structured' and it's 'coefficient' system.

1. City win the league and are champions of their country

2. City win 3 domestic trophies in 2 years.

3. Arsenal finish 3rd some 20 points behind City

4. Arsenal haven't won anything for seven years

Arsenal have a better coefficient and therefore a nice cushy group.

That has to be corrupt. Designed purely and simply to 'keep' Arsenal in their nice comfy FIFA sponsored 'position' amongst Europe's elite.

If that is the foundation the competition is built on, is it really that surprising that corruption then takes place within the actual games?

A competition that has coefficients for teams based on their succcess and not allowing teams from the same country to face each other in the group stages is fixing or rigging the outcome.

If Platini wanted to be more transparent then a straight forward draw with no strings should be the way forward, and if the Shite, City, Barca, and Real Madrid all end up in the same group then so be it.

After all how are the lesser teams ever expected to do well in a rigged competition?

No. In a word.
