Is Gaël Clichy that good?

Bobbins today, I'd start Kolorov over him now. I wouldn't have dreamt of saying that a few months ago.
Don't think either of them are good enough long term. It's a position that needs looking at

When you're on toast for Stewart Downing you know you're on the slide. Think we may have seen the best of this lad and I was a massive fan of his in 2011-12. Hope he gets back to where he used to be.

Fucking hell, I thought he kept Downing quiet apart from the booking.

Think you need to watch the game again if you thought that. Clichy never used to get beaten for pace. Today he looked like he was a good yard off it. Like I said, I hope he gets back to where he was in 2011-12 when he was superb.

I thought he was our most consistent player in the title winning season. First half of last season still pretty good but then started to fall off and hasn't inspired confidence at all this season. The same thing happened at Arsenal, when he got his chance in their first team he got in the team of the season but gradually got worse/ started making more mistakes. Make Kolarov the main starter and he'll have to come fighting back.

Seemed frightened to cross the ball despite being in good positions to do so, this seems to have been the case for a while now. Confidence must be low.

I am sure he will continue to work hard and get through what is probably just a temporary loss of form.

He is not a great player - Very good in 11/12, not so good in 12/13, decidedly average (so far) in 13/14. Pelle knows that, and (more importantly) he knows that Kolarov has more fire in his belly.

This far into the season - and considering his weekly wage packet - that is shameful!

He was angling for a big money move to PSG in the summer. He'll be off at the first opportunity.
