Is it just me or do other blues do this?

You support ENGLAND on the day how that being a hypocrit ? That's bollocks! You think arsenal fans didn't cheer when Defoe scored for England to put us through at the world cup? Of course they fucking did!
To be honest I couldn't give a fuck about England. I pay money to watch my club and the only interest I have in internationals is making sure they all come back fit.

watching england in the pub last night, when young scored... i wasnt exactly disapointed but he's a rag. also hoped savic would break the cunts legs.
rooney - also hoped savic dealt with him, and i smiled when he got sent off. and i was happy to see jones have a shocker.

just wondered if other blues do this or cheer for the vermin scum when the don the england shirt

i agree with you wellsblue21 laughed when i heard rooney got sent of.

Tbh most England matches are background noise, I fell asleep last night and only woke up when Rooney was sent off.

I've become disengaged over the years from England internationals due to the overhyping of the team... and the complete biased that is shown for certain players.
an example is Phil Jones now "coincidently" being chosen for games now he plays for the rags, not being overlooked whilst he was at Blackburn.
Same with Ashley Young and Villa.

Seems it isn't about how good a player you are, and about how a good team can be created... But it's about how many Vauxhall's can be shifted, how many Mars Bars they can sell, and how many bums on seats at Wembley... F* getting a win - let's just roll out the superstar players.

When we were rubbish and didnt have any international players, the pub where I watched England tended to attract a lot of United and Liverpool fans and a few Chelsea. It always used to annoy me the way that they would cheer on the England players from their clubs, slag off those from other clubs. In the end I gave up and just watched internationals at home. I always vowed never to fall into the same habit.

The only exception I make is that if a City player is playing against England as Savic did, I still want them to play well.

I lol'ed when Rooney was sent off, but then again, I don't give a flying fuck about the England team. I'm English, but I have no feeling at all with them, except hoping the City players do well, but I hope that for every City playing representing their country.
I'm so not arsed about England, I don't even know last nights score and didn't even remember there was a match until I saw this thread!!

But I'm sorry for those of you who disagree, but I completely understand 'goatinho' where he says 'How can you hate someone every week and then 1 day you cheer them on?'. If like Tevez an enemy sees sense, denounces the Devil's Evil Empire and comes over to God's Blue side, then OK I can forgive and forget, but no I'm sorry I couldn't cheer an enemy on just because they're playing for England, especially as I hate international football outside of actual tournaments!! For me an enemy is for life, not just for domestic league football!!!

I wouldn't wish a Rag player even the slightest injury (Gary Neville, Roy Keane, Beckham, Ferdinand and Fletcher apart), so I couldn't go as far as wanting physical harm to come to any of them. I don't hate the Rags, I just seriously dislike them with every drop of blood in my body, with every inch of skin, with every bone, with every muscle and centimetre of sinew, with every thought I've had of them since I was 8 years old, with every breath I take and yeh I'd love to see their stadium burn to the ground, but I don't hate them.

I don't know if thats aimed at me, or not, but just because I don't care doesn't mean I can't comment on them. I'm a football fan. I don't like Man United, yet I comment on them, I watch many teams I don't support, but I have a good knowledge on them and talk about them.

I do exactly the same thing. I'll watch the games because it's football at the end of the day and better than the rest of the shite on TV. I'm actually pleased if we don't have any players playing so they don't get injured, or if they do play then they play well, regardless of who they play for (like Silva last night), and that includes if they're playing against England.

Can't really understand the attitude of the majority in this thread. When I'm watching England I'm watching as an England fan and it's irrelevant to me who the players play for at club level. I'll never forget the 1990 World Cup. I was on holiday in Rhodes and everyone was right behind the team. City, United, Arsenal, Liverpool, nobody cared, and it's only when England play that this happens. We should have won it that year imo.

Qualifying internationals are a waste of time, imo. Always look forward to the major tournaments, even though they usually end up being a let-down, but major countries should get automatic entry and let the rest battle it out for the spare spots - you only had to see how overjoyed the Montenegro players were at making the play-off to realise what a waste it is for us.

The Prem rules now and having to have a 2 week gap when they play these meaningless games really does my fruit in.

Anyway, on topic, I think that's why some of us wish ill on certain players in these qualifying matches whereas in the tournaments themselves we become much more patriotic.

This. I always put club rivalry aside when it comes to supporting England.

Why is it that Rooney is determind not to sing the national anthem. Every international he stands there with that stupid face & mouth tightly closed, while most of the other players are proud to sing it. No wonder there are fans on this thread who wish him misfortune.
