Is it right to blame your players in public ?

It's not quite right but I would be interested to see who of those people that share my opinion wants Mourinho as a manager... He's doing the same in his interviews.

he should have a siege mentality with the players, grow a bond with them and not look a apportioning blame to individuals. They win as a team and lose as a team, giving the press headlines isn't going to achieve anything and puts more pressure on players when its obvious they're struggling ATM

That's his style. So what are the possible outcomes? Next few weeks tell us the answer.

-- Sun Feb 10, 2013 10:15 am --

Rhino's have won the last two superleagues from 5th place using that mentality throughout the management team and the full squad of players. Get Kevin Sinfield to chat to those at City

Those quotes are a disgrace in my opinion.

Why not say: "It was obviously a bad mistake from Joe but he knows that more than anybody, and he's been a rock for us on so many occasions, so I can't be too critical of him."

I'm slowly being turned off Mancini with comments like the ones in the OP. He comes across as a proper dickhead sometimes.

Bloody hell DB, sounds like you want 'arry. The bottom line is that mancini is a spiky customer, his management style is based on fear and respect and that has been a common thread throughout his managerial career, and his playing career too for that matter. FWIW I think we will know if it was the right tactic if joe stops making the same errors that have unfortunately crept into his game over the last few games
This is where he needs to be more flexible in his management style. The fear and respect approach doesn't work when you're 9 points off the lead and doing a fine job of pissing the title away. This is when we need to be holding firm together as one unit, not singling individuals out for a bit of ridicule in the press.

There was absolutely no need to publicly stick the boot into Hart like that yesterday, no need at all. I can't see it having the effect of motivating Hart not to drop the ball in future (as if he did it on purpose in the first place!!); he's probably sat at home thinking he works for a complete wanker and can't wait to see the back of him.

Players that have played for Mourinho mostly tell a story of a manager who empathises with his players, creates a bond, a real team us and them mentality that leaves players wanting to run through brick walls for him.

Yes he demands 100% but he gives those that deliver the same back.

For the most, players under Bob tell a story of no real relationship outside of the football with a distinct lack of a personal touch.

Chalk and cheese for me.

Mancini thinks that Hart needs to be accountable for a series of below-par performances in recent weeks.

He told reporters: "Joe has made too many mistakes for us. He has not been good enough.

"It was a really bad mistake [for the second goal] from Joe.

"It was not good enough. It's not strange because he's done a few mistakes this year."

where's this quote from?

Harts playing below his best, aguero, tevez, and dzeko are struggling to find form, as was balotelli, the midfield doesn't press. Silva, yaya, playing below their best. we dont release the forwards fast enough, Blah, blah, blah.

What part of the blame does mancini take in all this, he's the manager he should be accountable for all of it. And let face it considering this fantastic squad we've been poor all season.

The warnings were there for all to see from the first home match of the season. And mouthing off in the press will only turn the players against him
