Is it shameful what the FA are doing?

My thoughts would be ... starting July or August , finish the season , fa cup ,champions league the lot , have a two week break and then next season starting about October , champions league reduced to champions and runners up only , league cup , fa cup and Internationals binned for a year , just league games till next May , hopefully back to normal next summer..
Euros are next summer so there would still have to be annoying international breaks

It would be interesting to see what opinion would be on here if it was City just about to win their first league for 44 years.
Null and void or complete when safe?

The biggest agenda/corruption thread in the universe

You can see why the Scousers are nervous, it would be like telling one they may gain employment after all this blows over

I've always been interested in whether if she had,a dick my auntie would be my uncle? - I don't suppose well ever know.

7k extra for their end of season beano.

Crap refs sèmed to be fast tracked because they are politically adept. My only surprise is that some people believe a corrupt fa, pfa and football in general is a new thing, it has always been thus.

It's well known in refs circles in the North East that if you are a brown nose you will get on. Years ago when I was going for promotion to the Northern Premier I tied 3rd with a lad from Durham. As only 3 were to be promoted the pair of us were asked to attend an interview. It wasn't really an interview, more a quiz on the laws of the game. At the end I asked how I had done and was told 100% correct. Next day I received an e-mail saying that I had been unsuccessful. Make of that what you will but the lad I was competing with was well known for climbing the ladder by being mates of everyone at Durham FA.

He is now in the football league and I have retired due to injuries. However, on my way down the pyramid I ended up officiating in the Wearside league. One of the assessors that year was the father of one of the refs. Because of this he was ,obviously not allowed to assess his own son but did manage to assess every other ref at least twice. All of these refs received their lowest scores of the season from him. Lo and behold, his son finished top of the promotion list that season. Now he was a good ref at that level but never progressed further without the help of his old man. Now, before the season started I raised the point at the FA that his father should not be able to assess anyone in the league as there was a conflict of interest and I was told not to worry as I was not going for promotion in any case.

they say its cruel to keep a animal alive when its slowly dying ? well keeping liverpool hopes alive is the same ? just put them out of their misery and call the whole thing off right now. forget playing behind closed doors. forget giving the title to them. just void the season because there is more to it then just being name champions ? teams in the premier league will want european places and relegation if you hand over the title and it will become a mess and wrong

void is the only way you can get any sort of settlement and to start again will be fair for everybody. well i say fair liverpool will want a title in some sort of way and we don't want candles being lighted all over liverpool and for saying it not our fault again ? maybe karma liverpool

god i can see it now justice for the champions ??

Cheers, and do you not think it would be progressive if this type off conversation could occur at a high level in football. So that a referee was promoted on merit rather than politics. Some of the clowns who reach the top are unbelieveable. It would need an independent , probably foreign organisation, to pinpoint and fastrack referee of potential, and not blazered old farts.

Ok, so the resumption of the season starts mid July - mid September (a 9 week period)
Liverpool have a maximum of nine matches remaining of which only two or three would mean anything and they would be playing one game per week.
So after securing the league they can play the rest almost as friendlies and return for the new season all lovely and fresh

We are involved in three competitions with a maximum of 19 games to be completed in nine weeks, including the travelling to wherever the CL fixtures are to take place
You're saying we should play the equivalent of half a league season in nine weeks then return two weeks later for the start of a new season?

Oh and if games are to resume mid July then the players, who wouldn't haven't played competitive football since February, would require a four week pre season starting in eight weeks time
How would you propose this to be organised?

Every year, at every level the top refs are promoted and the worst are relegated, except the pl. Why are the bottom 3 not relegated to the football league and the top 3 from the football league promoted. You know it is nigh on impossible to be demoted from the pl. I can only think of 2 in the last 10 - 15 years. FFS Phil Dowd did not actually pass the fitness test for the last 4 years he was in the pl. At my level I had problems with my knees and never passed the test for the last 3 years but was given dispensation. Now I did not agree with this. If you are not fit enough then you simply dont get the gig. But to do this at pl level is criminal.

And explains why some of the shite refs are still permitted to officiate instead of being demoted or removed completely. It goes beyond competency and integrity.
