Is it time to unmask the muslim woman?

I am torn on the issue and here is why -

I certainly believe in MY right to wear what I want, where I want so why should anyone else be different?

However

There are certain situations where that just isn't possible. The old argument that 'if I went into a bank wearing a motorcycle helmet I would be asked to remove it' is used a lot but carries a valid point. We are living in times of a very REAL terrorist threat from people claiming to representing Islam. For people - Islamic or otherwise - to be able to cover their entire body in places that carry a genuine threat of attack is unacceptable. Hoods must be removed when going into shops, restaurants, pubs etc not only as a dress code rule but also for security reasons. Unfortunately Labour sold out to the Human Rights brigade and a solution to this if further away than ever. There has to be rules in public places whereby everybody must be identifiable. That includes Muslims, Jews, Christians and Hindus - EVERYBODY. Britain needs to protect itself. That is my only argument. Nothing to do with skin colour, religion or sex - National Security.

And therein lies the problem. I'm sorry, but that's bullshit. We've had a single terrorist attack carried out by Muslims in the last 100 years in this country. This idea that there are terrorists all over the place who are planning to KILL YOU is wrong, and stirred up by the people who make money out this shit, usually the politicians and the media.

Even the Government, when pressed, have previously admitted that the bombings had nothing to do with Al-Qaeda. One of them was born in Leeds and was a teacher. One was born in Bradford and worked in a chippy. Another was a carpet fitter from Jamaica with the last one being an 18 year old unemployed kid from Leeds. The connection between these people was that they were all seemingly Muslim from roundabouts the same area.

Not a single one of them tried to cover their face with any sort of effects, and were dressed in normal clothes when they went to do the bombing.

yes, a woman.

The headscarf is a common sign of a persons religious belief in most religions. the black headscarf and veil worn by Italians and Greeks. Catholic nuns etc. Are you going to ban them all?
Headscarves are fine. They show the face; we know who is wearing it, but with a burka... anyone could be under there.

Why do the majority of Muslims in this country want the Burka banned ??

Sorry!

I know we have had just one actual attack, but one, along with posted internet threats from recognised terrorists is enough for the threat to be real. All I said was there is a real threat. I ever mentioned Al Qaeda once. You just presumed I was talking about them. As for the fact they wore 'western' clothing when carrying out those attacks doesn't mean shit. Maybe next time they will dress up in a burka to gain an advantage to carry out their attack. Maybe they won't. It would however, be foolish to just assume they wouldn't.

Maybe they'll dress up as Moonchester...

Far to many people have had a go at me on here for issues not realated to the topic. So i will state again. Why do women insist on wearing the burka, when it is not a part of there religion, they dont have to wear it, so why?

Stick to the topic and answer my question directly.

Easy. They don't have to care so much about their appearance, which is a good thing since they are part of a society which is extremely judgemental when it comes to 'looks'.

According to a couple of Muslims at work who's wife choose to cover their faces. Nothing to do with the fellas, they're both as Westernised as me.
