so long as they're not wearing a burka there's nothing to worry about
so we're agreed the burka should stay?

That's exactly the line that damacles uses, don't worry till it happens....& if you personally are not going to be affected by it then it's not really a problem.
Muslims want it banned,why ????
SAIRA KHAN: Why I, as a British Muslim woman, want the burkha banned from our streets
<a class="postlink" href="http://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/article-1195052/Why-I-British-Muslim-woman-want-burkha-banned-streets.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/artic ... reets.html</a>
People should listen to the Muslims that want it banned NOT the extremists that are hell bent on creating the mirror image of what is haoppening in Afganistan & Pakistan over here.
TICK TOCK
So, if a Muslim wants it then it must be OK? I've heard it all now.
I'm all about live and let live, nothing else. I have no agenda. I just believe in love, peace, harmony and having fun.
I refuse to run scared from paedo's, urban foxes, 5ft women with their heads covered and anything else that the Government might fancy using to keep me living in hate and fear.
I free'd my mind and my ass followed. Join me.

I've just prayed and now feel enlightened and refreshed.

How about we let the women choose themselves?
Just because The Taliban are twats doesn't mean we should lower ourselves to their level.
Simple as that, anyone who doesn't get this is either in denial or thick.
I believe it is different because of the principle behind it. We as a society have changed the way we think about such matters. Women are not considered 2nd class citizens, nor do we expect them to behave as though they are.
If they want to wear these damn thing in their own houses then whoopie do, that's fine with me. Bringing it out on to the streets, displaying such submissive behaviour, well no, I don't think that's on, whether they want to or not.

Oh, I definitely am. I even want to be black. My white skin shames me. Hitler was white, and Stalin.TheLegendOfBerti said:Think we have some closet jamaicans on this board...
