Is left back really a problem?

Cancelo isn't the answer to left back, he has no positional awareness when defending from left. He is better on the right, and protection from Dias who he would have good understanding with would allow him much more comfort and freedom in going forward.

Grimaldo, Tagliafico, Telles, Max Clark, Wijndal.... Can pick from so many... But we are okay with Mendy. None of those (aside maybe Tagliafico or Wijndal) would cost a lot.

Your choices but not the clubs ideal picks. For piss boiling Telles would be great

The club's ideal pick seems no one and rather Laporte, Aké (2 centre halves), Zinchenko (a midfielder), Cancelo (a right back), and whoever the next midfielder awaiting his turn to be converted into a left back may be. Mendy being finished should be a concern and should be addressed with a direct replacement or cover. It will continue to cost us otherwise really.

Nope. Couple on your list will get targeted for their lack of lack of height for starters. Alba or Gaya would be two of my picks but again are too small. Alaba doesn't want to move to England.

Tagliafico for me. Experienced, Ajax have made UCL both full seasons he's been there, their style isnt a million miles off ours and he's supposedly available. Needs done.

Tagliafico is slow yes , but hes a very good technical player. Can dribble , put balls into the box and is defensive minded
