Is life mapped out for us

What I find weird, is that we are able accept cause and effect, we can accept we're not the authors of our own thoughts, that everything is simply reactive. But if you take it to it's conclusions, that's when things start to break down. It means all of our accomplishments aren't really ours - because we could not have done anything else. It also means we are not truly to blame for any wrong doings. It's quite a good thing to acknowledge though I think, as it can shrink your ego.

Try not to think of it like that. You do have free choices, it's just whatever choices you want to make are the ones that you were always going to make. It's a strange concept, I know.

Well that is not true really though is it? - the free part. I'm not a compatibilist. It's not a game-breaker, because we have such a great illusion of choice, but it is definitely a game-absurderer.

Yep. And whatever you want to do next, is already decided.

No it isn't because it's not happened yet.
You cannot bend time.

When the event has passed then you will be discussing something that has occured in the past which is a far more accurate reflection of things.
Events just happen. You cannot evaluate an occurance that has not transpired eh.

I don't believe anyone can see the future, but I think many people genuinely believe they can. And since the future does exist already, it's not entirely impossible that through some physics as yet undiscovered, that actually they can. I'd say it was monumentally improbable, but you cannot entirely rule it out.

What I said is a 'truth' based upon the experience of the individual and your answer was pretty much predictable!

Although you say "...you cannot entirely rule it out" at the end, you start off not by not believing the possibility which is weird when you're wondering if the future is 'already mapped out'!!

Like I said, unless you experience it as your 'truth' then you are bound to dismiss it!

Mmmmm...nooo??

Is it not the goldfish bowl effect?

Freedom to move within a position but always reaching the end event anyway...??

That gives you free will, but also gives you the learning aspect between A and Z; the pathway to develop within a circumstance whether that's poverty, riches, disability etc.

I don't all aspects of this Life at all and will always be mystified at some/ most things, but I do believe we often find ourselves in similar situations in order to learn, whether that's by someone else's example or your own.

I think we grow within our soul if we choose to learn and 'accept what we're learning'.

I thought that once.

I don't see any inconsistency to be honest. I don't think anyone can see the future, but I don't completely rule it out as a possibility. The fact that the future already exists, doesn't mean people can necessarily see it: I don't think they can.

We simply do not have free will, the concept is unintelligible, but I know what you're saying. We can't live like we have no control like a fatalist or futilist.
