Is Milner Overrated?

This was my opinion before we signed him, but I thought he had a great game against Liverpool, and said so on here. Since then he's not really impressed me that much, but to be fair to the lad I don't think we've seen him in his best position yet. However, he may struggle to get a run of games in his best position as he has some serious competition to oust before he can nail down a position in there.

everyone knows english players go for well over the odds so have to factor that in as well

more importantly, how many games has he played for us? we've already seen massive improvements this season with kompany, de jong, toure etc. It takes time for some players to settle at a new club, foreign or not. Sometimes a 2nd or 3rd season.

Far too early to decide one way or the other

Kompany was pre-takeover.
Humble apologies; you are correct, of course. That's what happens when you get old! That fact only makes things worse; just the one bargain then in the Mansour era!

Wait, you mean that we've only had the chance to negotiate a single low priced deal, now that everybody in the world knows that we are billionaires with money to burn, and need to do it quickly?

Shocker.

Ask the professional footballers who played against him and voted for him.....or are they wrong?
I think they are wrong as I think both nani and Fabregas had better season

Fabregas yes but wasn't he nominated for the full pfa award? Nani? now that fooking funny the kid was so hot and cold all season not consistent enough... this year he looks like he may add more consistency to his game but not last season just look at the nani thread on sadcafe to see for yourself!

As I pointed out in an earlier post.

rooney has been nominated in the past for both in the same year

Oh right i thought it was one or the other, either way he won it by players voting for him. I would say they are in a better position to judge than me or you tbh.

One thing everybody said about Milner before he came was that you'll never get a bad game from him, he'll always consistantly be a 7/10 performer. Now i'm not judging him yet as he hasn't had the chance to play in his real position yet but i've been slightly dissapointed in him so far bar his debut. If he's to be played out of position i'd sooner AJ/swp play there.
