Is now the time to consider Mancini's tenure at the club

i do wish people would stop quoting last seasons turnaround as if its that easy to reproduce
united are NOT likely to crumble this time , nor are city ,on current form likely to improve enough to threaten them
they have improved their squad ,we havent
yes of course it could happen so all get down to the bookies we are 3/1
and about to get even longer with every game!!

You need to watch some Utd games. They are vulnerable in more or less every game.

what would be easy to reproduce is taking the shackles off and playing the strongest team week in, week out.

Thats what Bob did after Arsenal and yes, it may still not be enough but it would give us a fighting chance imo.

Same knockers as last year- there is not a thing Mancini can do with the strikers having a mare of a season- ill stand by this, tevez and aguero should not be starting together, it's far to predictable, I'd bite the bullet here and rotate the 2 as lone front men, pack them in behind and let the pair find some goal scoring form, if we are to stand any chance of winning the league this year then it will be because of this- bob unfortunately has to manage it differently as tevez needs some value for when he's sold in the summer

Anyway it's like this, aguero gets back to where he was last year and we'll rape through the 7 points, he doesn't and it could be adios bob, for me though those itching to pull the eject seat now are pompinara's, clueless to what could happen to this season and ill reiterate, the same who called for bob at 8 points behind!!!!

Who said easy? The alternative to giving it a real go is giving up.

Form and momentum can change very quickly. And United will drop points over the course of the rest of the year.

If we can win at the sty, we only need to find another 4 points. That is certainly not insurmountable and that is all the people that refer to last year are saying.

Again, we need to separate the "Chelsea way" debate from the debate on whether or not Mancini should stay.

They are two totally separate things.

With the exception of the rags and recently, Arsenal, all clubs operate "the Chelsea way" mate.

Luckily for Chelsea, they have huge amounts of money and they have some real quality players.

Had they won nowt I could understand and would probably agree that they have gone about things the wrong way but they have, therefore rubbishing that opinion.

It might be a little unpalatable to some and that's fair enough but it has worked for Roman and Chelsea.

The Chelsea analogy is a poor one in my book, the spine of the team was from Ranieri and taken on under Mourinho, what this team had was not only very good players but also determination to succeed, the likes of cech, cole, terry lampard and drogba don't need a manager to motivate them or tell them how to play.

Managers such as Hiddink,Ancelotti, avram grant just sent those teams out and had to do very little with them, as long as the players were happy all was okay

the senior players were unhappy with scolari and AVB and only then did performances suffer, these players have in effect managed Chelsea, hell even di matteo went back to them last year and won the CL last year

Abramovich's policy of sacking managers hasn't brought them any success at all

I agree, people forget this side was top 4 long before Roman turned up. He's spent millions on players and manager's but the spine has remained the same, and they felt invisible because of. Add to that Roman taking his key players on his boat etc, they felt like management.

City is entirely different and can't be compared. The owners are the total opposite. They are investing as much in the infrastructure as the players and our owners keeps the players largely at arms length, with the possible exception of Tevez, but he has probably learnt his lesson there.

And no, Mancini should not be sacked, because he will get it right when we as fans, start to get it right.

Good for you, looking at your post history, it seems its all you do.

One dimensional springs to mind, almost like our football at present.

Happy New Year Blue ;-)

One dimensional i agree, but better that talking (or as you call it debating) complete bollox

Happy New Year to you 2

Give us your pearls of wisdom then mate and please don't just say i will leave it to Bob.

This is a football forum, as fans we have opinions, especially on how the game should be played.

My opinion is just that, mine and frankly worth fuck all in the grand scheme of things, i don't kid myself otherwise but unless you offer something a little more than, "you know fuck all" im going to have just assume your trolling, in the nicest possible way of course.

So, how do you think we should approach our game today and how can we improve on our form of late?

We are doing ok, perhaps move the ball a tad quicker, and stick the fucking thing in the back of the net. The basics are there. Injured full backs arnt helping.

But FFS every time we drop a point it's the same buffoons come on here slag everything about the club from manager players to tea lady. If every football game went to plan it would be as dull as fuck.

Very few of the knee jerker s on this forum ever give the opposition any credit it's just Mancini is clueless and the team is shite, pisses me right off

I'm not having a go at you personally.

Good point. We haven't got used to the idea that all teams raise their game to play the Champions....some on here are only used to those days when it was us raising our game once or twice a season to play a 'big team'. WE are that big team now!!
