Is our cycle of dominance coming to an end?

Think we’ve made some Underwhelming signings since Peps been here

Mahrez £60m
Stones £50m
Mendy £50m
Gundogan £30m
Cancelo £60m
Rodri £65m
Jesus £30m

A lot of money on players nobody would miss if they left

Now Mancini and Pellegrinis signings are coming to the end of their time, we are having to rely on the above and they can play well in patches but are nowhere near consistent enough

With our resources and manager it shouldn’t be. All about which players we buy imo. Replacing the quality of Silva and Sane and effectively Dinho who is no longer our midfield anchor will decide things along with whether or not we start to think about defending properly.
Resources? We haven't spent big since Pep overhauled the defence. Three years ago.

Jesus and Mahrez are top players as was Mendy before he was injured. Rodri would be very good if we had some pace in the central defenders/midfield.

Some good points but, I am not a fan of Jesus, but he was a bargain.

He must be getting near a 70m-100m player.

Mahrez is a great footballer, but not great in our team.

Rodri fine footballer but never had pace and never will.

Liverpool will fade away again when Klopp leaves. Not only that but they got very lucky with some of their signings. Not even the people at Liverpool would have imagined players like Salah would turn out as good as they have done. He was barely a 7/10 at Roma.

I doubt we’ll be as good when Pep leaves but we have a structure in place so that we can challenge with different managers in place and let’s be honest, we’ll always splash the cash if needed as well.
They didn't get lucky, they hacked our database.

It's been great so far, and with our ownership group I expect it will continue. Add in the prospect of some quality transfers and we should be fine, but let's be frank, we should have done better in the last two Cup competitions with the great players we had.
As much as I like Pep and want him to stay for awhile, the problem I see that not many are talking about is our increasing predictability. You play out from the back to draw the other team out to make through ball passes into the space you've created and attack to the box with fewer defenders to beat. We all know this. But we don't do this, anymore.
We are so slow now that every team now knows that they have time to get every player back behind the ball and we are forced to break down their whole team continually. Yes our quality still prevails most times but when you play better more defensively disciplined teams we have struggled. Adding a slow defensive mid at the expense of a faster, creative, attacking mid is not the answer when you need to be quicker and more direct.

Our success over the last 10 years was built around the spine of the team created by Mancini/Garrry Cook.

Garrry Cook made great signings always got his man, although he did have the benefit of no FFP for sometime.

Tixki has pulled off some great deals, raised a lot of cash from players whom have never played for us, yet has made a lot of disappointing signings.

Why will they fade away?

The same could be said when Pep leaves.

Both clubs have a system in place that does not rely on any one individual.

Ever manager has a shelf life, in my opinion Pep is close to the end of his with us. He has achived so much, an incredible manager, but not bigger than the club.

Jesus was a bargain and no way deserves to be labelled in the context of that list.
