Is our cycle of dominance coming to an end?

Faily confident we are STILL the most consistent team of any of the top 8 so no.
We are however suffering a trough, and it's up to teh management and players to get us back to a peak.

But regardless we'll be here! Well, some of us anyway.

The first cycle is drawing to a close now with only Sergio left from the start of it all but there’s no reason we can’t start another period of dominance with a new core.

We had Hart Kompany Yaya silva and Aguero as the spine with zabba and others in support. We’ve got Ederson Laporte KDB sterling and Aguero as a direct replacement as possible with the potential of Foden, walker, Bernardo and others.

were in a strong position to stay dominant but we can’t afford to have poor transfer windows otherwise it could set us back quite a bit. We’re going to need a cb, lb, dm,cm and striker of the highest quality over the next two windows as well as keeping our best players.

All things must pass.

We will continue to win trophies as will other clubs.

You need to bring in enough of the players with talent , team ethic and drive to continue to compete at the top to replace those that go.

I personally think we could do better in recruitment but again the player wants come and be within our budget.

Motivation is critical and its human nature to drop off once certain goals have been achieved so to keep that motivation high you need a culture that facilities that and keep on refining it to maximise outcomes.

We have not dominated for 10 years, we have been hugely successful but far from dominated.

Maybe the question is why we have not dominated, there was the opportunity to do so.

We don't need to dominate, we need to entertain and always try our best.

Trophies will come and go but the pelasure of watching a city team playing a level of football we enjoy will always endure

Our real period of dominance is yet to come and may not be as far as some imagine. For the past 10 years we've either been in the mix to win something & have done so or we were miles off. A real elite club may not win the league every season but puts up a challenge right to the end and gets within a couple points of the leader, not 20 points behind, or getting rolled over by relegated Wigan because they had a bit of a tiff with the manager. You often hear how great it is that the likes of Silva, Kompany, Aguero never rocked the boat to go to Real Madrid/Barcelona when maybe they had the ability to, but there would be a lot more scrutiny on players who go missing in action like the last Mancini season and Pellegrini season 2 & 3. You see that now with Hazard at Madrid, taking every second season off was acceptable at Chelsea as he was by far their most talented player, can't get away with it so much now.

I wouldn't be as worried as some about losing the core of the successful sides since takeover, there are a number of recent examples of teams that add 3-4 of the right players & maybe a change of manager to look a completely different side. Bayern looked a shambles and years off being the best in Europe a few months ago, of course you still have to get your decisions/transfers right. We've been piggybacking off these players but now we're one of the best clubs to be a part of and absolutely nobody is doing us a favour by managing/ playing for us. Just have to make it count

Answer when we know whether Koulibaly is signing or not. Sign him then the defence is sorted for 2-3 seasons and with City's attacking options we'll be very very strong. Can' say we'll dominate with Liverpool around although I think they may drop quite a lot (if only because the demands on their first XI are huge and I can't see how they can sustain this).

Man Utd with Woodward are self-limiting (Sancho).

Beware London: Chelsea (jury out on whether they've done enough defensively) and Arsenal.

I think City fans have to realise that the days of owner-investment are over.

KDB now or how general do you want me to be

Sorry to disagree, you probably preferred to listen to what was written in the Press about him, we bought a failed Chelsea player........anyone who knows anything about football knows that KDB was a World Class player when we bought him, he has just got better

With our resources and manager it shouldn’t be. All about which players we buy imo. Replacing the quality of Silva and Sane and effectively Dinho who is no longer our midfield anchor will decide things along with whether or not we start to think about defending properly.
