Is our squad stronger or weaker than last year?

What do you think?

Could do with another full back. Preferably right back but left back would be ok.
Wouldn't need to be as good as walker but should be better than Gomez.
Gomez looks decent but not good enough to start at anfield next week.
From what I've seen of Rico Lewis I'm not sure we need to buy a RB. Pep must believe in the lad because he keeps giving him minutes, and he's done well so far. The more he plays the more experience and confident he'll become. And that goes for the rest of the lads breaking through.

Lewis looks a good player but I can't see him making it at full back at city or any premier league team unless he has a major growth spurt.

Lol, said virtually the same thing to a lad at half time yesterday. Signing Akanji could be a great piece of business.
He is a great piece of business. There are plenty of other clubs who could easily have brought him in for the price we paid, all of whom were probably in more need of quality players than us. It just proves how well City are run in comparison to virtually everybody else.

He will as he's not 18 till next month and he'll bulk up. A RB doesn't need to be tall. Tariq Lamptey is smaller than Rico and he's 22 and stopped growing. He's very good player too.

And Sergio Gomez is only fractionally taller than Rico and also 22, so he won't get any taller.

We're definitely stronger. Selling Jesus, Sterling and Zinchenko for about £130m was superb business. They've been great servants for us, but they never will be world class and, let's be honest, that's our level now.

In all honesty, even if we'd just brought in Haaland we'd be stronger. He's simply far better than Sterling and Jesus could ever hope to be and I quite liked the pair of them. In reality, only Mbappe could come close to Haaland but I think Haaland is a better player. He is the first genuinely world class player the club has bought and Pep will make him into the finest striker of all time, I'm sure of that.

Keeping Bernardo was a big win, but I hope the club are planning on him leaving in the summer. He's been an exceptional pro, but if Real etc come in with a good offer we can't stand in his way. I love Bernardo and really hope he changes his mind!

I think the signings of Alvarez, Akanji and Gomez though have all been better than we imagined. It's astonishing to think (from what I can remember) we've made a profit in this window and improved the squad.

One thing I thought though is that because Liverpool and Chelsea have fallen away and we've got Haaland on a crazy streak, it's allowing Pep to give the youth players minutes. If we can go 3/4-0 up then we can comfortably allow Palmer/Lewis etc to play 20 minutes and that will do them a LOT of good, far better than going on loan.

The club and scouts deserve a massive amount of credit for this transfer windows, it's been insanely good.

Much better as the players look all pally Wally, winning and scoring with smiles on their faces
