Is the penny dropping?

A big, burly 19 year old striker gave a showing yesterday of the quality that is rolling off the production line. Also, Pellegrini's side will have tougher training games, probably against their own acadamy. A couple of paragraphs from this mornings paper by a journo called Ralph Ellis. Coupled with what was said on MOTD last do you at think that the media are finally realising what is happening at our club.

This the operative word - A! Kelechi appears to be the only one who seems capable of slotting straight into the first team and staying their. There's plenty of good 'uns but he's the only one. I fancy it will be a season or two when we see what the U16s can do or ten years to see what the U8s can do! We shouldn't get carried away. The facilities over the road are infinitely better that the quantity rolling off the production line!

Things like this take time & it will be a gradual progression. It might be 10 years before the first true academy product makes the first team. By true academy product i mean a player who came to City as his first club. It could happen before but it will happen & will happen more often the longer the academy stays open. There certainly won't be any cherry picking of our players...thats history because of the amount of games they are involved in now. Imagine City's value when they are able to play 5 or 6 academy in the first team. 4/5 Billion?

Nope, not while the said paper writers continue to lick the arse of the swamp dwellers, don't forget what the pisscan said, not in his lifetime last time I looked he was still alive!!!!

I doubt it. At least not from an international standpoint, I checked all my news feeds and not one f-ing City lead-in article. I saw Nacho's picture on FOX and that was it. I ran Nacho's picture on my Facebook page, and late last night when I went down to the pub to catch a replay, my friends said, "Who the hell IS that guy?"
We are going to have to win on Europe to finally break throigh. Pep, hear we come!

The media is so Rag infested that it will be a long time before the sewer rats change their tune.

Whose then if not ours?

Fact is he has represented the club at U19's and the EDS and now the first team.

At any other club he would be regarded as a product of the academy.

Why some of our own want to tow a line rival fans and the media would run with im not too sure?
Come on mate - we'd be no better than the rags if we spuriously claimed Kelechi was a product of our academy.
There's no doubt we've played our part with his continued development but we all know Kelechi was singled out for great things prior to his arrival here.
Who cares what the rags or their army of sympathisers say about us; no youth, empty seats, etc.
Fuck em. They're badly hurting watching us go over the horizon. :)

I was in Australia at xmas and I couldn't believe how the media just weren't interested in city, or Leicester's remarkable form either, it was all about the sky4. It wouldn't surprise me if this was the same the world over.

Indeed we have through our academy.

He signed up with our academy and through that facility, he has now progressed to the first team.

It really is that simple.

The best FU I've ever heard given to the media was that radio show call from a few years back. The club had just signed Yaya and there was some complete tool on sports radio over there bashing the signing (he's not a major footballer, hasn't won shit... blah blah blah) And a fellow Blue called in and JUST leveled him. I mean he completely owned the douchebag. Even his broadcast partner admitted it. Don't know if you can still find the audio on Youtube, but it incapsulated how bias the media is towards us. Just quality!

He isn't a product of our academy.
If you say he is, then you're just as bad as the other club's supporters and their friends in the media who have wrongfully done this with several players over the years.
All the blues I know would always call bullshit when this has happened in the past.

All the blues you know?

Give over ffs.

Look, im not arsed what you think either way as right now, im just happy to watch the lad in our shirt playing fantastically well.

The biggest fucking issue on here right now is a few going out of their way to put down anything this club does and Kalechi is a current target for that.

Manager doesn't pick him he is a twat, he does he still doesn't get any credit and fuck me, we sign him up ahead of every club out there for our academy and yup you guessed it, we cant say he is from our academy?

Well done Marwood and Txiki and well done Pellegrini.

Discuss that with your blue fucking mates!

It's unbelievable, isn't it?

It is obvious to anyone with half a brain that the smooth transition of Nacho from young prospect to first team regular is a big feather in the cap of all of our footballing management staff; youth and first team. It sends a message out to the currrent young players (half a dozen or more who have debuted for the first team this season) and a message out to future young signings.

He is the standard bearer but there will be more. The system is already working a treat and it's only just begun.

It's making me laugh all this lemon sucking from those nay-Sayers and doom-merchants who have swallowed the media bullshit about us having no interest in youth. His progress this season has been a masterclass in the final phase of youth development: first team integration. And others are following beautifully. As I've said repeatedly, ADUG are not in the business of investing hundreds of millions into our academy without taking it incredibly seriously.

I very much doubt yesterday will have changed anything in MPs eyes.
I still expect him to pick Bony ahead of Ihenacho when both fit.
Pep on the other hand....

Fucking hell you're tetchy.
You seem fixated with 'those on here' statements all the time, as if you're always spoiling for a fight or trying to prove how correct you always are - relax, I only stated my opinion regarding his academy status. You may notice a few others have posted similar opinions.

If you want to split hairs in a fit of desperation (like rags do with their 'academy products') then of course you could spuriously say he's from our academy because he was placed there when he was signed, the truth is most blues would laugh at that as much as we have when other fans/clubs have done it over the years. Obviously you're too busy hunting rags to discuss this with fellow blues.

And his name is Kelechi not Kalechi - if you're going to shout about our academy graduates, at least get their names right. ;-)

Btw I would've sold Bony at a loss in January to enable Kelechi to get more game time.
