I was referring to Prestwich Blue's theory that Isco was never Plan A for Perez. PB then suggests that Malaga called in Perez as leverage to force City's hand, in part as revenge for what happened with Pellegrini. I suspect the theory was that City would cough up the 35 mill because of our desperate desire to land him, and of course this has been the expectation all the way through because of Isco's association with Pellers. PB then attributes the delay to Madrid not actually being desperate themselves to acquire another left sided attacker.
It all sounds very Shakespearean but to me it goes part of the way to explaining the oddities and delays in all of this.
