Isco

Whereas we have plenty of room..

If there was one area we could improve our attack it would be in attacking midfield.

We rely far too much on Silva and Nasri to create our goals and when one of them is injured we struggle.

If we could bring Isco in it takes a lot of pressure off our current creative pair and I reckon Isco has enough goals in him to play as a second striker or a more complete number ten.
I'd love Isco here.

I'd also love Silva to get some rest, like Zabs will now get. However, I'd be sceptical of Isco wanting to come here to play that role when he would be leaving Madrid due to a lack of playing time.

As it stands we've got the likes of Yaya, Navas, Nasri, Milner, Silva, Jovetic, Negredo, Aguero and Dzeko to fit in attacking wise.

Isco was a regular up until around October/ November and then Ancelotti changed formation to a three in midfield because they were conceeding too many goals.

I think he favoured Di Maria as the creative player in the midfield three because of his pace and setup the team to play on the counter, with players like Ronaldo, Bale and Di Maria you can see why.

Isco for me is a possession player playing in a counter attacking team, think Mata under Mourinho at Chelsea and that is why I don't think he is first choice.

I think Pellegrini would be all for getting Isco at City, look at how hard we tried last May/ June.

Still maintains the point that he would want assurances of decent playing time; as it stand at Madrid with Kroos and possibly Rodriguez coming in he'll be non-existent.

I could only see him coming here if we were to offload someone like Milner, which would cause more headaches trying to meet the squad criteria. especially as we've just brought in Fernando to compete in the midfield and look set to keep 4 strikers up front.

Just supposing we bought Barkley to fill Milners squad place and swapped Negredo for Isco, would our squad be better or worse than it was last year

Milner offers different options but this years squad would be better if we get both Barkley and Isco

Those lists show that this seasons squad looks better.

I think Demichelis will be dropped from the Champions League squad with Rekik coming in if he is needed.

I don't see Barkley coming this season though.

I think getting Isco on loan with an option to buy is very possible but Isco would have to push for a move to us.

Nastisic would be replaced by Rekik for me for purposes of CL squad. Toyed with the idea that Milner might stay but decided to raise the funds for Barkley he would need to go. Of course all of the above pure speculation.

Isco is on his way to us this summer in a loan deal that could become permanent at the end of the season. The loan is designed to avoid ffp spending restrictions until they are lifted next season.

He posted that in May as well

Could very well be on the cards this...

According to Pete O’Rourke, reporter for Sky Sports, there have been reports in Spain that #LFC have made a loan offer Isco.

will be interesting now...

If they have put a loan offer in then I reckon we will have as well.

It's up to Pellegrini to convice then and hopefully Isco an come and join up with him again.

What about all the reports of Isco being deemed "persona non grata" by Pellegrini and Txiki

A really good player, but better than Nasri, Silva or Jovetic?

Would make sense if one of the above were leaving, otherwise don't see how it adds to our 11

I'd prefer to keep Milner but then I'd prefer to keep Rodwell and Richards too. :-)

Isco will take over one of Silva or Iniesta in the national team and many believe him to be the next great Spanish attacking player.

Pellegrini clearly wanted him last summer and if the opportunity came around again I think he would want City trying again.

We have to think about the future and for me Isco is a perfect long term replacement for Silva.

We need another attacking midfielder anyway if you ask me, far too much emphasis is put on Silva and Nasri to create us goals and when one of them is out we stuggle, plus it would be nice to have the opportunity rest Silva now and again when we can.
