Isco could be the difference in the Champions League.

We had big injuries around the time we played Barcelona and could have done with a player like Isco.

We have Jovetic fit and raring to go.

I'm a massive Jovetic fan but Isco is more in the Silva mould, not at his level just yet but may well be in the future. While none of us want to say it, Dave will need replacing, Isco could be just the boy. What better education than time with Dave. Sadly, I can't see it happening but I'd love to be wrong.....

I have my doubts that he would be a good signing this time around even if we may have to look to the future and replace Dave. The first choice of a replacement would be checking the progress of Marcos Lopes.

Another major issue which gets bypassed in threads like this is that given the expectation we are to sign Mangala, then we will have 19 registered overseas players on the books which means that to add Isco to the squad, three existing players will have to move on to include him in the Premier League, and an extra body will have to be omitted from the CL too. So given the problem of moving on unwanted homegrown players if only to get the wage bill down, then which of our elite group of overseas players should we be prepared to ditch, whilst keeping a balanced squad and also to keep this part of the wage bill down so as to accommodate a high earner like Isco?

It isn't easy and it just won't happen.

I could see Garcia accepting not being put on the CL roster if you approached him the right way. He's got a baby daughter and a trophy wife - reality has probably hit him in the face. Simply playing for City is probably pretty advantageou$ to him. You guarantee his CL bonus and give him some other perks he might not create too much of a hassle over being left off the CL list for a year. He'll get plenty of run in the league and cups. Not unthinkable.

Given what we have do we really need Isco? It was clear last season that we needed to supplement 4 positions, 3 of which are sorted and the other seems to be well in hand.

We have a wealth of great attacking midfield options so why this mad urge to add to it? Its obviously nice to sign new players but not when theres no real point.

Actually makes his point. Ozil was in an even better position than Isco and was still sent packing. Like he says, at Real Madrid sometimes being a good footballer just isn't enough.

Madrid are all about signing players for the media/fan impact. If a players stock is high, they want them. As soon as they settle into the team and become forgotten about slightly, they send them packing. Isco is next. James Rodriguez won't be far behind, unless he has the impact of Ronaldo.

I think they count Zuculini

If he was staying (rather than go on loan) then for the CL he would count since he's not been here for the necessary 2 years, however the PL I think drop that requirement so for this year only he would count as an U21.

Not really it's a good point Madrid are always looking at the next level Ozil fitted the bill at one time, but it was apparent when he comes off 30 mins at the end of each game that they were looking for a move on
